The Chaos Emeralds, magical gemstones containing infinite power. Although they've been depicted in a variety of colors and quantities.
They have power similar to Power Rings which are special type of rings with powers far beyond the normal variety. The history of the Chaos Emeralds are that they are ancient emeralds and secret stones tied to the Master Emerald that possess unlimited power. Those that hold them can use them to cause miracles and/or supernatural or natural other feats, such as warping time and space, powering machines, and initiating Super Transformations of anyone who combines all Chaos Emeralds can control unimaginable power. Even when not including their mystical powers, the Chaos Emeralds' monetary value and beauty make them prime targets of treasure hunters, heroes, and villains.

The Master Emerald is a power source formerly housed on a floating island that was guarded by talking red dreadlock furred species, but all of the population of them died; except one called. . .Knuckles, and the powerful Guardians have guarded the Master Emerald for like decades. Of course entity's have tried to steal the Master Emerald, for it is a big, and massive power source. The Chaos Emeralds have been given various powers and abilities to others over the course of history itself, differing in size, coloration, and even cut between incidents early on in history. Currently, however, they have consistently been shown as palm-sized, good cut gems in the colors green, red, blue, yellow, purple, turquoise, and white and other colors. But in most cases the Chaos Emeralds were used to defeat a lot of foes, hero and villain alike. The Chaos Emeralds represent a power, a huge and chaotic one at that to defeat huge odds no being could withstand.

Meanwhile. . .

Thel put down the case of weapons, as he helped Johnson deliver the weapons to the right people. Shipmaster Rotam, after a few moments of consideration about how to decrease tension between the parties of this 'alliance', had suggested giving human weapons to Elites, vice versa and the like, the same with vehicles. Thel, Johnson and a few others had volunteered to help in this matter, as they had nothing to do at the moment.

In the corner of his eye, as he passed a group of ODST's while holding a flamethrower and Rocket Launcher, he saw Commander Keyes and the Master Chief as well as General Kirkpatrick, Lord Kong and Cross seeing Lord Hood off, as the human admiral left the Shadow of Intent. Hood, after all, had to see to the defenses of Earth along with Fleet Commander Nera Katarn. He didn't envy the fact they had to fight the Flood head-on.

Still, he wasn't hopeless. The AI Cortana had promised there would be a solution against the Flood on the Ark, and the Spartan believed her. Therefore, he would do so, too. Besides, the journey through the Portal would still take weeks, even with the upgraded Sang'Katarn engines built in all the ships at record time. And the Loyalists, despite their 4-hour head start, were slower, and it was predicted they would only arrive a few minutes before the Separatists caught up. Therefor, once the ground-teams were deployed, it would be an even fight: neither side having adequate time to put up significant defenses.

He helped stow away the last of the weapons before he started wandering. He had weeks, and while most humans had opted for Cryosleep or Stasis pods, about a hundred, including Johnson, Keyes, a handful of soldiers and the Spartans, chose to stay awake and get better acquainted with their new allies.

He wondered about the second Spartan, the shorter female. The one who had delivered him a scar at the eyebrow. She had the respect of many, gained by the fact she had somehow become the Kaidon of Sang'Katarn. And yet, he saw that she returned the respect. Surprising, considering the hatred she had spewed against his kind in earlier engagements on Halo and Reach. Nowadays, instead of trying to kill his people, she helped train the inexperienced ones, like Narsk and Mahkee, in various skills, while training with the more experienced ones to become better. He had heard, by accident, that she was also an 'amazing, hot-crack pilot', having trained at Reach in the 'Saber-Program'. He didn't know what that was exactly, beyond that it was likely some type of spacecraft. But he supposed that with the battle of the Ark ahead of them he would soon find out.

Dj: [Confidently] As soon we're done here, I'm buying.

Joey: I'm game!

Cross: [Smiles] Same here bro.

Dj: *[Raises his arm with his Saberstaff]* May God and the Force be with us all!

Deep within C.S.A.T's planetary base of operations, the being in the capsule was still asleep, but when suddenly a green gemstone appears and lands a few meters on the floor next to it, the machine which held the capsule then began to -turn on.

Years ago

"I beg of you, do it for me. For a better future, for all people who live on that planet, give them a chance to be happy. Let them live for dreams. . . I know you can do it. That's the reason you were brought into this world." The little girl said warmly and calmly and pressed the button.

???: *[Sheds a tear]* That's what I promised her. I must keep that promise. That's what she wished for.

Now

The capsule slowly opened, smoke emerging and the figure saw and picked up the green gemstone. He looked around and saw what seemed like a small laboratory.

"Time for Chaos Control."
