'The public ball is an occasion where commoners are welcome and everyone can attend regardless of their status. It's popular because it's one of the few events where commoners and nobles can mingle. When public support is low, the imperial family will sometimes put on a public ball that is very grand. Support for Soveishu's reign isn't low enough for that to be necessary, but...' Navier thought as Countess Eliza spoke up catching Navier's attention.
"Everyone will be amazed at your outfit, Your Majesty. And you too, Lady Angelica." Countess Eliza said with a smile as she was walking with Navier, Laura, Lady Artina, and Angelica to the ballroom "I doubt it. People wear the most extravagant dresses to masquerade balls." Navier said as Angelica giggled and pulled Navier's hand into her "But not everyone can pull off such an intensely red gown like you, Sister Navier." Angelica said as Navier smiled down at her. "Thank you for the compliment, Angelica." Navier said and she thought about the previous days 'Lately, Rashta...hasn't been following me or Angelica around in such an obvious way like before, but...' Navier thought before shaking the thought away as they entered the ballroom and were shocked to see "Oh no, how could this be!" Countess Eliza said worried as everyone stared at them.
They spotted Rashta wearing a similar dress to Navier and as the people stared and talked quietly Rashta turned around to see why people were whispering to each other, as she turned around she looked at Navier and saw they were wearing similar dresses and she walked over to them "Your Majesty, Your dress...It's similar to mine..." Rashta said surprised "Did you wear a similar dress on purpose?" Rashta asked making Angelica glare at her. "You have crossed the line, Lady Rashta." Countess Eliza said looking at her with a worried look and Angelica chuckled and looked at Rashta "Heh, so when you said you wanted to be more like me, and the Empress...Did you mean you wanted to copy everything we do" Angelica said standing next to Navier as Rashta flinched and looked nervous "What I said then has nothing to do with this! This time, Her Majesty is the one who copied me!" Rashta said fuming with anger. "Why would I do that? Copying you would only make both of us the subject of ridicule, so why would I do such a thing?" Navier said making Rashta blush in embarrassment as she stared at Navier and Angelica in anger as they passed by her "You should also bear that in mind in the future" Angelica said as Navier grabbed her mask taking it off and throwing it on the ground before walking away to her thrown with Laura, Countess Eliza, and Lady Artina following, as Angelica smirked at Rashta and walked away.
