Jay's POV:

She's freaking out and I could see her struggling to breath through all the rambling she's doing. I sat back down with her and began to rub her back to help her relax a little and hopefully stop rambling soon so I can explain what I need to.

"What's a mate? If Luna is a title and I'm your Luna then what's a psych ward?" I couldn't help but laugh at the question, watching her throw daggers at Gifford still.

"That's not important right now. What is important is getting to know what we need to do to help you and get you up to date. How long have you been there?" That's a question that's been racking my brain for a while. She stopped throwing daggers and looked at me with her eyebrows furrowed once more. Her confused face is now one of my favorites.

"Well... I've always been there. Mrs. Gio and any 18's, 19's, or 20's would raise me." She responded, watching my reaction for something. I don't know what she's hoping to find though. She's been there since she can remember... or maybe she's been brainwashed? Who knows what they did to her there. It's possible we only saw a pinch of what she's been through.

"What do you mean 18, 19, and 20?" This was Lomens voice who was now looking between her and I. Instead of my mates voice meeting our ears, it was Destinee Adeline.

"It's their age. I was 17 when they first caught me so they called me 17 until my 18th birthday." Her voice sounded haunted and exhausted, making me frown and look back to my mate who was looking around the vehicle with wonder. Had she never seen a vehicle before? Why doesn't she sound traumatized or haunted?

"So you're 18." I stated, looking at my mate. It took a second for her to look at me but she nodded with a smile.

"Yeah! That's my name." She hummed, turning to look at the Destinee.

"You know you should never ask a lady about your age." At that phrase Gifford growled, his wolf coming to the front for only a moment before his eyes returned to normal.

"Psycho Luna, don't repeat or listen to anything he says." Who said? Why is he getting protective when he doesn't seem to like her very much? As if he could read my mind, he looked at me and I could tell he's still bothered.

"Noah Ade. She knows him as 'Mr. Noah' and she's obedient to almost everything he says. I saw how manipulative he was with her not only in the field but I watched him train her mind outside their 'appointments'." He looked to be fuming and I couldn't help but match his anger, if not a little more. Part of me was tempted to let Andrews take control but a cold soft hand met my arm and began to trace small shapes on it. I looked down to see my mate looking at me with fearful yet sad eyes. Can she feel my emotion and pain without being marked? I thought I felt hers earlier but that shouldn't be possible. It hasn't been possible that I'm aware of. Why is she upset?

I pulled her closer, laying my chin on her shoulder, letting her calm Andrews and myself down.

"Why're you upset?" I whispered, looking at the Destinee girl who looked physically and mentally sick.

"Are you mad at me?" Her voice sounded so small that it made me angry once more at the Fertile Moon's Alpha.

"No, babygirl. Not at you. Your name isn't 18, that's your age." I sighed, taking a deep breath as to not upset her or let my emotions get the better of me.

"Destinee, do you know either of their names?" It was worth a try. Maybe a doctor or something slipped up and told her.

"No, our group went by 18 but we never saw each other. From what I heard, most girls don't make it past the age of 16."

"I remember the 16th bunker. We were all allowed to talk with one another and have roommates and sleep overs! We'd all take care of each other when-" For a moment it was quiet and my mate stared off out the window before biting her lip and looking down guiltily. I, well we all, waited another minute to see if she would finish but she didn't. She just sat there looking out the window with a glazed look and a tense body.

She's hiding something, Jay. I haven't known her long but that wasn't normal. Even Destinee hasn't done that yet and she's been whispering with Gifford for a while.

As if I didn't already know that already. I don't want to push or scare her though.

If you don't, I will. She doesn't like me already anyways so pushing her boundaries wouldn't be much of an issue.

Andrews growled at the idea and honestly, I couldn't say I blamed him. I don't want Gifford making my crazy girl hate him more or be in distress. But I also know we need as much information as possible.

You're not actually thinking about it, are you!? We're not going to let Gifford do that to our mate!

Andrews, I know. Calm down. We're gonna do it.

Like that's so much better.

I could feel Andrew's anger building, sparking my own. I can't let him or the anger win though. Looking up, I take another deep breath before pulling her closer and giving her a moment, or rather myself, before I ask.

"When what, babygirl?" I asked, watching the way her eyes grew sadder and she started tapping her fingers against her thumb in weird patterns. Her breath began to move a little faster and her eyes were glued on a far off distant point that none of us could see except herself. Then she was back as though it had never happened and turned with a smile and her beautiful shining eyes.

"When we weren't feeling good." She answered, staring me in the eyes with that gorgeous smile. Something in my chest was tugging like something was wrong but she wouldn't lie to me straight to my face.

"Oh bologna! When I got there, there was about 5 different girls already p-"

"Already, practiced and patient, I know. We learned it from a young age." My mate interrupted and the air grew colder by the second as she stared at Destinee with a look I couldn't cipher.

"If you don't tell him the truth, I will." Destinee growled, eyes flashing to a glowing yellow like a sunflower and dandelion mixed. Just as fast as her eyes flashed, my mates flashed that glowing white.

"There is no truth to be told. You know nothing. You saw nothing. You did nothing. You had none. Not one." Her voice was different and I watched in amazement as the roots of her hair slowly turned black, spreading down her hair like paint on a canvas.

"You and I both know they deserve to know. He can't hurt you anymore." Dandelion's voice softened but her eyes still glowed and her skin seemed to turn a little paler but in a nice tone, not a sickly tone.

"We can't, you don't understand!" This was a completely new voice to the conversation and when I looked over, I found the third girl awake. Her eyes were glowing pink as she watched Destinee and she looked fearful. What are they so afraid of? Is Noah the he?

Each and every one of them seem to change when their wolves come out. Destinee grew pale, her hair contrasting her skin in a hypnotic way, and her eyes drawing your attention. My beautiful mate's hair turns from the dark brown she has to a shiny black, tanner skin, and glowing white eyes that makes the temperature drop around you from fear of what they could do. Then there was the last girl who usually had light brown hair that was now highlighted with a strawberry blond, her eyes glowing pink and her voice pitches softer then they were when we first met her.

"You can! You both can! Am I the only sane one here!? If you don't tell him, he'll find out on his own! Then what?" By now her tone had picked back up but not in a threatening matter, in a begging matter.

"We'll figure it out when the time comes." That was my mate's angelic yet hardened voice and I couldn't help but feel a sting from her keeping things from me. I looked down at my hands, trying to calm my aching heart. All fell silent though, causing my heart to skip a beat. Why is it so quiet?

When I looked up I saw not only all three girls' eyes glowing yellow but also my men's. What the hell did I just miss!
