Hailey's pov:
"Why did I run away? like I always did." I thought, with my head buried into my arms.
I was sitting on my bed watching my favorite show. Everyone had avoided me today... and I couldn't blame them...the way I had just... burst out on Jake was... not how I'd usually act...
I guessed it was just mood swings... yeah. But something inside of me... my heart, had told me otherwise. I had to admit I was jealous. It was true.
PING !
I heard my phone blare as I rushed to pick it up from my slumped position.

Hailey🫐: what?
Sean🎧: huh wait what's happening?
Milly🎸: I thought we should have a group chat and we shud all come together at Luke's house and pracktice at 6:00pm
Hailey🫐: that's not how you spell should or practice💀

I carefully put my phone away, and got out of bet to get ready for practice. I needed songs written. Quick. The first practice today was mostly hard labor. So, I was really REALLY excited to get to work on these songs!
A few hours later...
"Hey Hailey!" Zander called.
"Yeah?" I replied.
"Me, Milly, and Sean are all driving to Luke's house! Wanna come?' Zander asked.
"I'm not ready yet!" I yelled, panicked. I TOTTALY had forgotten the time!
"Fine, suit yourself! Oh and also, Jake will be walking so might a well walk with him!" Zander said, about to step out the door.
"Wait no!" I yelped.
"To late! He'll be there in 12 minutes! Bye!" Zander said before taking off.
"CRAP! Crap crap CRAP!" I thought. "How am I going to bear even a 10 minute walk with Jake! It'll be so awkward!"
Once I had calmed down, I started to get dressed. I was only in my pjs after my long cry session was done when I had first entered this room after school. So, I had some work to do.
A long dress up montage later... (help I'm so lazy also she just wore her normal outfit btw)
As I walked out the door, I felt a cool breeze hit my face. I had left earlier than when Zander said Jake would arrive. Only because I wanted to avoid him of course...
I was alone. The sight of flickering street lights and falling autumn leaves was mesmerizing... it almost made me stop thinking about Jake... almost. Being all alone walking on this cold night forced me to think... like really think. About Jake. About how the hell I'm going to get over him.
And I felt like I was denying the one soul part that could change our relationship for the better, or... worse... confession... it really wasn't my thing. I was shy, with severe stage fright. I couldn't just go up to someone and tell them I like them... maybe all that emotion was why I exploded on Jake... Right. Back to that... I really hoped he would forgive me... even though I wouldn't have.
"God this is confusing." I thought, still walking a steady pace. "With all of the Jake stuff going on added the club, Drew, and my stage fright, I couldn't keep up with all my stress. I should have taken a break..."
But suddenly someone bumped into me in the middle of my thoughts.
"Omg! I'm so sorry!" I apologized.
"No no, your ok... princess" he said in an all to familiar voice...
No, no it couldn't be... Jake lives right next to me... he wouldn't be going down this path! But it was true. There he was in all his glory. The simp of all simps... Jake.
