Part 11: War Begins

"Yo- nah, the hell is this?" He exclaimed to himself in his usual slang-ful tone, opening the message. It was a long and expansive message, so a simplified synopsis will be presented here.

"We are the OFR, and you already know who we are. We were the ones your Marines met with in the mantle stations. Our nation would like to open up friendly diplomatic contact with yours, and in particular, discuss matters regarding the war with the CROS, who is our enemy just as much as yours. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, after all. Due to both of our capitalist natures, we believe we could become great allies. 

We believe it is possible for both of us to solve each other's issues and enter into a mutually beneficial relationship for all of our people and all of yours. You do not need to send an emissary, and we have listed here a comms line to our foreign affairs, as well as a time conversion table to enable you to call us when it is convenient. Thank you!"

"Sounds corpo- ah, yeah. 'Oligarchic', wasn't it?" The emperor put on a skeptical face, but he decided to look at the time table. He found that about 1000 hours in the New World Union would be convenient for both parties, and mentally listed it down for later, deciding to finally get up and head to his bed, and going to sleep for a few hours.

Enigma Corps CEO 'Tempus'

The CEO of the leading private military company in the NWU, an individual named Tempus, appears to be waiting for certain members of his company to enter a large briefing room. There are 7 seats in the room, which, after a few minutes, fill up. The CEO begins speaking with a very noticeable Southern accent. "Alright fellas, welcome to Operation Imminent Resolve. We got a very important mission today. We located a pretty high ranking officer who was responsible for the massing of forces at the start of the war and is wanted dead.

He controls that sector, and his name is, uh- Eric Schwab. He's a Lieutenant General. Also, no aircraft or ships for this mission since they got a hell of a fort nearby... If we need exfil cover we only have stealth howitzer Beams from this SRF, since they can probably track our Photonlasers and cause another fuckin' Benben. Codename for missile support is Excalibur." A map appeared on a screen behind Tempus, and he started explaining what was on the map.

"This is a layout of his compound. It's on an armored two-tower aquatic cargo ship. We're gonna first get in with a modified saucer, then breach from the first superstructure, kill all the fuckers there, and go across the deck and clear out whoever we find. Afterwards, we head down. He'll probably be in the ship's citadel- or an analogous area. Once we've gone smoked him, we get to the deck and get back in the saucer, callsign Mother Wyvern."

The screen, which was showing a video of how the operation would play out, now cut out. "I will be personally overseeing this mission and makin' sure it doesn't go to shit." Tempus smiled, quickly swiping back his brown hair and putting on his heavily upgraded helmet. Holographic arrows projected onto the Enigma Corps task force member's UIs, guiding them to the exit. Tempus took point, heading towards the L/RVX that they would use to infiltrate.

As they entered the craft's pocket dimension interior, it began accelerating and flying through space. It breached several nebulae and stellar clouds, eventually arriving at the planet that the target, named Schwab, was located on. To mask its entry, it covertly caused other near-planet objects to enter the atmosphere. The craft got behind one, cloaking obviously active, and sent it towards the ship.
