YOUR POV

It's been a while since we had a dinner all together. I'm not used to cooking while Nat's in the house but not stood behind me or sat on the counter. The boys have already eaten so they don't miss their bedtime and don't have to play witness to whatever we talk about.

- y/n : Dinners ready

- Ivy : Okay Mom

- Natasha : Thank you

- Charlie : Thanks

- y/n : It's lasagna

- Natasha : Mhm

I don't know how I'm supposed to start this.

- Natasha : We need to all be honest with each other

- Charlie : Why am I here?

- y/n : You're kids, I expect you to keep secrets from us. But if one of you is at risk or in danger or just needs help and someone to talk to then you come to us

- Natasha : And there can't be any "Don't tell Mama" or "Don't tell Mom" we're going to communicate more

- Charlie : Okay

- y/n : You guys can tell us anything. We love you unconditionally

- Natasha : We love you more than you will ever know. We want to help you when we can, before you start to help yourself and don't need us

- Ivy : Okay

- Charlie : I'm done eating

- y/n : Go get showered and ready for bed. I'll come say goodnight before I go

- Charlie : Okay Mom

- Natasha : Why Ives? What made you feel that way?

- Ivy : I don't know, I just kinda do. It's how I was coping with you and Mom splitting up

- y/n : It's okay baby

- Ivy : I heard you on the phone to Uncle Clint. When you said that it would be easier if you didn't have kids, it made me sad

- Natasha : That's not what I meant. I meant if me and your Mom split up, there would be no excess pain caused to anyone. We've got you kids to think about, about if you're happy

I'm going to leave Nat and Ivy talking while I clear the table and say goodnight to Charlie.

- y/n : Hey baby. You tucked in?

- Charlie : Yeah

- y/n : Goodnight Cece

- Charlie : Goodnight Mom

- y/n : I love you

- Charlie : Love you too

- Ivy : Night Mom

- y/n : You're sleeping here?

- Ivy : Yeah, I'm really tired

- y/n : Okay, night Ives

It's nice to be around when the kids are going to sleep, it's been so long. I got to put the boys down and read them a story. It's been so long since I've done any of this.

- y/n : You're smoking again?

- Natasha : Mhm

- y/n : Pass it

- Natasha : You smoke now?

- y/n : Eh, sometimes

- Natasha : You hate the smell

- y/n : It reminds me of you

It's not awkward, it's not anything really.

- Natasha : I'm mad at you for keeping it from me

- y/n : Rightfully so

- Natasha : Mhm

- y/n : I'm mad at you for what happened atVormir

- Natasha : Understandable. We're a mess, aren't we?

- y/n : That's one thing to call it

- Natasha : I miss you

- y/n : I miss us

I don't want to keep doing this with Nat, the fighting, the separation.

- Natasha : I'm going to bed. Let yourself- what're you doing?

- y/n : Going to bed. Come on

- Natasha : Y/n

- y/n : Please, I need you. I need us. I need to sleep next to you

- Natasha : No sex

- y/n : No sex, just cuddling

- Natasha : You have no clothes here

- y/n : Gimme yours

I need to spend time with Nat to repair our relationship.

- y/n : What?

- Natasha : You're so beautiful

- y/n : Shut up and get in here

- Natasha : I missed this

- y/n : I missed being close to you

- Natasha : We're not over, are we?

- y/n : Not until I stop breathing and my heart gives out

- Natasha : Stop being a romantic. Is it too much for me to ask you to kiss me?

- y/n : What, like this?

I've missed my fiancée. We've got a really long way to go but just being close to her feels good, natural.

- y/n : Nat

- Natasha : Mhm

- y/n : I want to, but we shouldn't

- Natasha : It's been so long

- y/n : I know

- Natasha : Please

- y/n : What if the kids hear?

- Natasha : We'll be quiet

- y/n : Nat

- Natasha : Shhh, I've got you, just lay there, let me do all the work

This really isn't how we should do things. Slow and steady, not diving head first back into sex.

- y/n : Nat

- Natasha : Mhm

- y/n : I love you

- Natasha : I love you too detka

I guess it doesn't really matter how we do things.
