A/N: The Arc is pretty mundane. I can't exactly focus on either Team Manabu or Party Honami (in term of Power) because goblins are too weak to begin with. Well, I had already plans for their Arcs later on. Even Masumi's Group.

For Kakeru, I haven't really think any story with him. I won't add much of CoTE Casts. Beside the group of Manabu, Honami, Masumi, and Kakeru, I only intend on adding the 1st Year batch then none (I'm not that confident on managing so many characters).

After that, or even before that, I will focus on Grimgar Casts. Not the MC's Group because I'd rather leave them alone. I'll probably focus on the ones that aren't highlighted so much in the OG LN.

I've finished writing the Lemon Chapter, it just hasn't been edited. And I just need to translate the 3 Chapters and a half tomorrow. Those 3 or 4 are the start of a new Arc, the Deadhead Watching Keep's Raid.

The goblins of New City established a monthly tradition on the first date for the king to tour the city under his rule. Security in the city became naturally tighter. Normally, one would imagine the residents to hold a grand event or parade in an effort to welcome their king on a favorable note, but no, not at all. On the contrary, they didn't seem very happy.

Manabu claimed that New City's government had never been great. That was proven by the fact that many of the residents were banished to Old City. Even in New City, there weren't a few occasions where you thought living in Old City or beyond was preferable.

Manabu's group's observations indicated that the goblins weren't eager to increase the population. At the same time, they often procreate in large numbers. A seemingly contradiction.

"...for cannibalism, huh?" Mako muttered somberly.

We're in the Spearhead's specialized lodging. It was a two-story establishment. Each member's room was on the second floor, while on the first floor was a single spacious space consisting of a long dining table and many chairs. There was also a kitchen, bathrooms for each gender, and even a small hot spring. We eat together on the first floor.

"Most of the people there don't particularly feel secure," Manabu said. "Cannibalism is the primary reason, as Mako pointed out. It would seem that a family only raises their descendants based on certain strict criteria, discarding the rest with zero regard. Those remnants are poached by other goblins to feast on. It is not an exaggeration to claim that it was an everyday occurrence. From our observations so far, we eventually assumed it was due to a food shortage problem."

There weren't a lot of things that goblins could turn into food sources in New City, it seemed.

"...Spearhead is attempting to handle that issue as a negotiating chip?"

Manabu gave no answer.

I have a hard time thinking they'd provide that on their own. It'd be more likely for them to use themselves as a bridge for Damuro to establish cooperative relations with the Alterna or Arabakia beyond Tenryu. Though I doubt Arabakia has any left to share in the first place.

"A trade city of various races known as Vele exists about 500 KM from here. Humans fall under those races." Fuka remarked, seemingly realizing what I was thinking.

"That still doesn't answer the question in my mind."

A matter as large as the food demand would be extremely difficult for a mere clan to carry, even with that in mind.

Killing the king won't necessarily topple the kingdom.

To begin with, their goal of conquering the former kingdom of Arabakia is already strange. They have no obligations. They aren't even citizens of the kingdom— well, that's saying something.

There're other options, actually.

If it was too dangerous, I could quit at any time. But I didn't do so. The scheme that Manabu informed me of was rather interesting.

Spearhead had faith in my abilities. It was worth putting me in the front line where the determination of the success of this expedition lay.

"We're counting on you, Kiyotaka-kun!" Nazuna struck a funny pose as she said that. Well, it was cute, so whatever.

Before we went together to the destination, we settled down in Old City. Coincidentally, we were in the same room with Ikuto, so there were three of us. The other members are in other rooms. The building is very large for that. We only gathered when we wanted to have a meeting.

I had asked Ikuto about something back then. "Mages hate most metals, don't they? I have heard that it can be restrained with a coating process, but how much do you think it would cost to, let's say, cover all my equipment?"

Despite being a mage, Ikuto possessed a number of equipment as a thief. His dagger was one of them.

Ikuto examined my limbs fleetingly. "I assume they'll cost more than 30 golds."

"...That's pricey."

"With what they offer, I believe it's a reasonable price."

"Fair point."

Nazuna gazed at me. "Are you considering to be a mage?"

"I was, but after hearing the price, I'm less enthusiastic." I jokingly replied.

Nazuna giggled. "30 golds isn't a small fortune, after all. I agree. If you become one, what magic will you learn?"

"You learned the Arve magic, didn't you?"

"Yep, they're flashy and all. Well, the real reason is because they have decent firepower. As for Ikuto, he's practicing Darsh. Shadow magic, darkness, or whatever it is. It centers on the enemy's mentality rather than their physicality. There's also Falz of Lightning and Kanon of Ice. Ah, have the mage in your party chosen any of those four options?"

"No clue. I only heard the name of these types now, honestly."

Each of them sounds unique in its own right. All of their attributes could be useful in a variety of situations.

"...ah," after Nazuna said all those things, I wondered about one thing. "You said there are four kinds of magic fields that the mage guild provides. Arve of Fire, Falz of Lightning, Kanon of Ice, and Darsh of Darkness. What category is Magic Missile in?"

It had the effect of simply an adult punch. I don't see it falling into the four categories Nazuna spoke of.

"Category?" Nazuna went blank. "...Oh, Wizard Sarai told me that it was the key... I almost forgot about that."

"Wizard Sarai?" Ikuto immediately perked up. "That scoundrel old guy?"

"Y-Yeah," Nazuna also seemed to dislike this scoundrel old guy. "I was under his tutelage during basic training since Wizard Yoruka said his teachings would 'definitely' be useful to me in the future. Well, true, he said something about Magic Missile being the key to achieving True Magic. But he basically left me wondering myself why every mage learns Magic Missile as their first magic... Ah, he can conjure magic without any drawing or even recitation, and switch them around as he pleases. I was wondering about that too. I mean, we should, right? If it weren't for Wizard Yoruka's remarks... honestly, I might have killed him out of anger during that training."

...True Magic, huh? I thought. The term made it sound like it was something great. It was not as grand as it sounds.

Nonetheless, I recognized that the existence of magic in Grimgar was a peculiar affair. I figured that like my other companions, they shouldn't be deemed to exist in reality. Yet, they do exist.

Magic could turn a difficult task into an easy one, or even the impossible into the possible. It's an interesting concept and has boundless potential.
