Part 8: Operation Primo Victoria, Day One

Those left behind are now being bombarded from the sea, from the air, and being shot by those on the ground. Further Lecelnan shore batteries and defense radars not wiped out by the initial naval missile strike now find themselves the subject of precision fire from orbiting New World Union vessels, and so are the Lecelnan Space Navy vessels sent in to intercept. Their ships are completely dwarfed by the New World Union's ships; like ants are to blue whales, though even that is a severe understatement.

The LUNAS Tohacsaza, the flagship of the interception fleet, was shot with an EMP from an HSF-39. The ship and its crew had already proven itself 'enemy homies' to the New World Union three days prior, during the war on the Balingian Empire. As such, plans were made before the operation's execution to show mercy to the ship. HSF aircraft swarmed the Tohacsaza, before eventually, a signal was transmitted to the New World Union fleet. The ship had decided to surrender, and was soon escorted to an orbital portal above Condetena.

The rest of the ships however, were being vaporized by the massive gun turrets placed on the New World Union's vessels. Cruise missiles launched from New World Union ships rip Lecelnan ships in half or vaporize them completely, and various kinds of New World Union missile launchers join the fight from Condetena. Missiles are launched from both stationary and mobile platforms, also ripping apart other Lecelnan spaceships. CIWS systems placed down also shoot escape pods with marking rounds, as some flying boats deploy to round up those who fell as PoWs.

Back on the ground, the TFX members eventually hopped onto one of two M985 black hole tanks dispatched for the operation, which trundled onward alongside the rest of the 21st Armored Division into the mainland. Having had the best air support so far in the mission thanks to pure luck, the 21st Division had already cleared out all of the Lecelnan troops in their vicinity. They were then properly equipped to rush into the mainland, which was exactly what they planned to do.

Their tactical plan was to have the divisions landing at Diablos and Rathalos beach meet up with them, who had come from Odogaron Beach, to cut the peninsula off and in half to ease up resistance further. It would be a somewhat decently paced ride, so the members of TFX had a chance to converse while they rode away from the hellscape that was Odogaron Beach. Bodies and wrecks covered and were strewn about the beach from New World Union-aligned stragglers as they talked.

Their leader, a Captain Tommy Miller (friend oc fr 👽👽👽👽), initiated the conversation. Even though they had met already on their IC-41 and at Condetena, he still felt a second introduction was necessary, particularly to the youngest of them, who was, indeed, Staff Sergeant Allen. "Name's Tommy. Miller." His transmitted telepathic voice was audible through the hellfire that the Lecelnan peninsula had become during the operation. His second sentence was focused more on Allen. "I'm good, sir." Allen responded.

From how he saw Tommy while at the landing craft, Allen saw a black-haired Caucasian-looking guy who had a very big smile and vantablack sunglasses, with no facial hair. Allen had also assumed he was a ladies' man. Two other guys in the task force transmitted their rather badass codenames to him (that my friend and I decided upon). "Again, name's Darkstar, rank Lieutenant, new guy." Allen chuckled to the guy who was Darkstar, who was an even more heavily armored guy whose visor was also painted with an artistic and stylized image of a dimming sun.

He sighed to himself, knowing he really needed to ask for a badass codename. He now heard the other guy's transmission. "Captain Tomahawk." He nodded to him. A notable Earth accent that he wasn't sure of was very audible in his voice, so he acknowledged it and scanned another guy, who was manning a machine gun. The scan revealed his codename to be 'Hotrod', and his rank to be 'First Lieutenant'. He then scanned another TFX member manning a machine gun. The name 'Baba Yaga' (john wick reference!1!1!!!!1!!) came up, his rank also being 'First Lieutenant', and the Staff Sergeant went back to scanning for threats.
