Chapter 98: Mega Evolution, Aura Style

The moon shines down on Vaniville town, with the night sky out in full force. It's around 2am, with everybody around the place sleeping with the town not moving an inch.

That is apart from a honey blonde girl who lays awake in bed, unable to sleep despite feeling weary after a whirlwind of a day. Not even the comfort of her boyfriend's arms can help her on this occasion, still not able to drift off into her slumber.

The thoughts that occupy her mind are simply too much to ignore as she takes into account everything that is going on and has gone on. Today is a day that's changed her life in a way, and the Kalos queen still doesn't know if that change is for the better of the worse yet.

With her being completely unable to sleep, she decides that she may as well get up and do something to help clear her mind. Maybe that way she'll finally be able to get some form of clarity and get her focus back.

She soon gets out of bed, quiet enough as to not disturb Ash's sleep. She puts on a robe for warmth and a pair of slippers before she leaves the safety of her childhood home and heads out into the night.

Serena wanders around Vaniville town for a few minutes before she makes her way to a hill over looking the city. There she can just relax and take in the view while thinking about her recent revelations.

Today she met her baby brother for the first time, and her sister for only the third time. At the time she never knew, but now she knows full well what her relationship is to those two individuals. That feeling of familiarity was there for a very good reason. It was there because they are family even if she's not sure if she'd call them that.

She soon sighs a little before she looks out at the specific house she first saw her deadbeat of a father in front of. Of course she'd hate to see him right now, but she would still love to see a sign of life from that place. Just so she'd know where her two siblings are.

Unfortunately, that's not the case. The house looks completely abandoned and like it's not been lived in for a very long time at this point.

Serena takes a small sigh as she whispers to herself "So they must have moved out of Vaniville town. That's why Calem was introduced as Calem from Fluer city. Will I ever see them again? Do I want to knowing it'll only lead me back to dad? Can I put my mother through that again?"

She soon grabs her head as she shouts in frustration "Ahhh! Why do things have to be so complicated!"

The Kalos queen takes a rock off the floor and throws it off into a nearby lake, clearly extremely agitated by the situation. She begins to tear up a little as she feels her frustration getting the better of her, only to hear a familiar voice behind her.

"I thought you might have been lonely out here babe. So what's up? Couldn't sleep?"

Serena hears the voice and instantly gasps in shock that someone else is out here at this time. Thankfully when she turns around she sees the rather welcome sight of Ash's warm smile as she exclaims "Arceus Ash you scared me. I thought you were just some random stranger for a second. How did you even find me out here? I never showed you this spot."

Ash smiles reassuringly at his girlfriend as he flashes his Rotom phone and explains "Sorry princess, I tried the best I could not to make you jump. It was pretty easy to find you actually. We're location sharing on our Rotom phones remember."

Serena shrugs her shoulders and accepts Ash's answer. They started location sharing a while back just in case one of them ever got in trouble and needed to find the other one. Neither of them mind them knowing where the other is at all times, sort of feeling comfortable with the fact they wouldn't check on it unless they were looking for the other like in this situation.
