Part 7: The Lecelnan Incident, 35794

Allen decided to search up "CROS", and he found an entry giving a general description of the nation. It read-- [prepare for guidebook-ahh entry]

"The CROS, or Common Republic of Starin, is a communist/marxist-leaning country originating from Earth/Terra that took over its home universe, like our own OFR [Oligarchic Federation of Rodina], though the CROS originated from what is known as China, as opposed to our Russia. They started with their own 'wonder-material' known as they call it 'ME-1', supposedly standing for magic element one. They came from another universe too, and like us, found interest with the planet of Thuia, setting up several mantle-based stations. When our glorious nation, the OFR, had arrived here a few hundred years ago, they abandoned their stations. Data slates, notes, and recordings found and recovered in the stations stated that they had been afraid of our arrival, knowing that we were more powerful. However, unlike the CROS, we had only set up research and monitoring stations, while they had also set up military ones. As a result, we have been unable to enter these stations, and risk of personnel in the stations being killed and then alerting their home nation also give us further reason not to. It is rumored they are experimenting with pocket dimension technology as well, though for obvious reasons, we cannot verify this claim. As we, the OFR arrived, the CROS abandoned their stations and other bases here, only leaving us to remain alongside the less-developed humans on the surface." The entry trailed off into an entire abridged version of their decamillenium (10,000 year)-long history, from how they pushed and expanded from their own Terra into the stars beyond.

Allen transmitted to comms. "You seein' this shit, Overlord?" "Affirmative Sergeant, holy hell--." HQ Overlord responded, and Allen scrolled through several other entries, detailing more of their history. They spoke of a 'great migration', a mass exodus from Earth that was undertaken by the CROS to escape some sort of cataclysm during what would be the 1960s. Allen forwarded the full contents of every entry he read, until he eventually found an entry relating to the OFR themselves.

"We, the OFR, or Oligarchic Federation of Rodina, are an oligarchic capitalist country that also developed from Terra, though in a universe different though adjacent to the now known CROS. We have also subjugated our own universe under our righteous oligarchs, who rule with a light hand and strong muscles. We have largely been focused on expansion historically; spreading the values of our people and the size of our Rodina [Motherland], now across the stars and now crossing the universal barrier, literally and figuratively. We also use thaumaturgy and science in equal measure for the advancement and to improve the life of the common man, who our grandfathers and grandmothers so long ago wished to create with the Soviet Union, before that frankly completely failed. We hope to advance further in the field of alchemy, to bring our common person the greatest gift of all; everlasting and eternal life..." The entry then trailed off into what could be frankly though honestly told as 'propaganda bullshit', referring to their oligarchs like wise god-kings, though the entry did detail more of their history, and even a catalog of the different races they encountered across the stars.

"Nahhh, holy fuckin' shit. HQ, you seeing this? We aren't alone, and we aren't the only fucks who took over our starry snow globe-." "We are seeing this Allen, and we're forwarding this shit to the EXTF and to the Head of the DoD right as you send it." The voice at HQ's regular calm and professional tone was now slowly deteriorating as the confirmation that they weren't alone began to sink in.

Overlord HQ was now being overwhelmed by messages, as now not only Allen was sending in info, but the rest of the fireteam and other Marines who boarded were also sending in their own findings on the terminals, and others still were also forwarding the information they had gathered from looking around, reading signs, walking around, and speaking to researchers.
