It's been a week since Nate had been reported as missing. Rue, Kika, and I continued to lay low and not talk about it unless someone brought it up, and even then we gave brief answers.
It's also been a week since I got broken up with. I still felt sad but mostly numb. My feelings felt completely turned off, even the good ones. I was home alone wallowing in my sorrows as my sister went out with Rue. She's been trying to keep her mind at ease so they've been spending more time together. I'm happy for them though, especially Kika with her little crushy crush.
So there I lay, curled up in my bed, in a dark room with only the tv playing. I was watching a stupid baking show that somehow sparked my interest. For hours I stayed in that position, I haven't eaten or gone to the bathroom today let alone brush my teeth. This could be the start of a depressive episode but I shouldn't let it be that. I shouldn't let a guy or anyone have that much power over me. However, I'm also allowed to have these feelings, breakups hurt.
I picked up my phone checking for any missed texts from my sister but got nothing besides texts from Maddy. I smiled opening our text thread.
