What the heck just happened? I thought. The forest background soon disappeared. As did the Becka look-a-like.

That wasn't actually Becka, my subconscious reassured me. It wasn't her.

I seriously was disturbed as I walked through the neighborhood. I didn't know how I didn't run into any houses or anything. Or run over any lawns.

Oh wait, I thought. I didn't because I was floating. I mentally corrected myself. I walked slowly down the street, I must have looked so bewildered.

I filed out the of the Arizona neighborhood. It was blazing hot, and I could practically hear the tar melting under my sneakers. I quickly glanced over my shoulder my shoulder to see if anyone was watching.

No one was watching.

That I knew of.

I safe-checked one more time before jump starting. I took a sharp breath as I zoomed along in the direction I hoped was New Mexico. Area 51, to be exact.

Colors blurred past me. Orange, yellow, flaxen, and wheat colors flashed in my peripherals.

Gale hadn't trained me in running. The most we did in my core muscles was 20 sit-ups two mornings in a row. I closed my eyes. My feet flicked up dirt as they floated off the dusty desert floor I had been running on.

I smiled to myself as I went higher.

Two feet off the ground.

Four.

Six.

Ten.

Fifteen.

My eyes widened as I finally glanced at the ground. Panic shot through my veins and I dropped a few feet. My legs were still pumping. What would have been sweat but was now only humid air dripped down my face as I concentrated on not crashing down to the sandy earth like a bird with a failing wing.

I closed my eyes again as I braced myself for the fall.

I didn't expect what happened next.

I landed gracefully. My head was a leaned a little backwards, and my legs were walking forward as if I was in a ball gown.

Who knew I had that kind of grace deep, deep, inside me.

I hastily got over my self-shock, however, as I bursted into speed. Faster than I had gone before. Faster than any record ever set by a human.

A flickering thought of the direction Area 51 was actually located went through my mind.
