She was going to be upset. I was so late meeting up with her and I knew it. Though I knew she would understand when I explained everything and how late I got in last night, I hated making her wait knowing she had other things to do today. I glanced at my phone as it buzzed, revealing a text from YN. *I'll be there in like 10 minutes, sorry.* I quickly typed back, my fingers tapping on the screen with ease. YN and I had been best friends for years, and we had sparked up a weekly tradition of meeting at the same coffee shop at 9:00 am every Saturday morning.

As I walked into the cozy café, the smell of freshly brewed coffee hit me, instantly awakening my senses. YNN was already sitting at our favorite corner booth, her bright smile lighting up the room. I couldn't help but feel a sense of comfort and joy whenever I was around her.

"Well, you sure took your sweet time," YN teased, raising an eyebrow playfully. She always had a way of making me feel at ease, even on the toughest of days.

I chuckled, sliding into the booth across from her. "Sorry, I worked on paperwork for the last case we went on until like one in the morning and didn't get home and in bed until two," I explained, shrugging my shoulders. "I overslept. I'm sorry, YNN."

YN nodded, taking a sip of her steaming hot coffee. "No worries, Luke. I actually don't have anything else planned for the day so it's all good." Her voice was laced with warmth and understanding.

I grinned, grateful for her patience. "So, what's new with you?" I asked, genuinely interested in catching up with her.

YNN leaned back, crossing her arms. "Well, you remember that art exhibit I told you about? Turns out, I got accepted! I'm starting to get the pieces I want shown together, I just haven't decided on the last few yet." Her eyes sparkled with excitement, and I couldn't help but feel proud of her.

"That's amazing, YNN!" I exclaimed, unable to contain my excitement. "I always knew you had talent. You're going to be a big name in the art world someday."

YN blushed, her cheeks turning a light shade of pink. "Thanks, Luke. Your support means the world to me."

I reached across the table, gently squeezing her hand. "You don't have to thank me, YN. As your best friend, it's my job to support you in everything you try to achieve and call you out on your bullshit the rest of the time. You do the same for me."

She smiled warmly; her eyes filled with gratitude. "I know, Luke. And I appreciate it more than you'll ever know."
