"You tricked me!" I push the table against him as hard as I can and stand up quickly.
"I have heard enough!" I turn around and slam into a person. I quickly look up and feel my heart sink.
"Ian? Ian, what are you doing here?"
"Same as you, my love. He owes me."
I turn to Nikolai and see him gesture toward an open chair.
"I'm sorry Sage," Ian says as he walks past me and takes his seat.
"Ian! What the fuck?" I follow and feel a warm hand wrap around my arm.
I look up and see James.
"You! What is going on?" I feel my heart beating faster.
"Oh you've met James. He works for me too. You see darling. I have eyes and ears everywhere." Nikolai smiles and lights up a cigar.
"Get your hands off me!!" I grip James's hand and yank it off.
"Oh come on Sage, don't be like this." James begs as he tries to grab me again but I dodge him.
"If you touch me again I'll break your face! Again! You remember my right hook don't you?"
"Whoa, right hook? Again? This is the first I hear of this. Care to explain?" Nikolai stands up and slowly walks towards us. "Excuse me Ian, I'll be with you soon." He continues and Ian nods.
"And?" He arches his eyebrows towards James.
"I don't know what she is talking about? She's crazy, remember."
"Crazy? You are lying! You tried to have sex with me! While I was passed out!"
James starts laughing and a nervous look washes over his face.
"No, Nik. I would never-"
"-And you drugged me! Ask Ian he will tell you, he was there!" I shout while pointing at Ian.
Nikolai looks at Ian.
"Yeah she is telling the truth." He answers softly.
Nikolai looks back at James with darkness to his eyes.
"Nik, please. I didn't-"
A loud crackling sound brings my attention towards the gun in Nikolais hand. James drops and all I can focus on is the puddle of blood growing bigger around his head.
"And you didn't tell me why?" Nikolai's voice sounds stern as he turns to face Ian.
"Fuck Sakes man! You can't just shoot-"
"-Answer the question!"
"We gave him a good hiding. I didn't think it was necessary."
Nikolai's laugh sits deep in his throat and immediately silence follows.
"You didn't think it was necessary..."
Another crack ripples through the air.
"NO! IAN!" I scream and run towards Ian slumped onto the table.
"Oh my fuck! IAN!" I grab onto him, hardly able to see through the tears.
"YOU KILLED HIM! YOU FUCKING KILLED HIM!"
"Oops, I guess I did." He walks back and sits down again.
"Darla honey!" He calls out and I see a tiny old lady walk out from the big sliding doors. "Yes sir?" Her tone of voice seems soft.
"I made a bit of a mess... Do you mind cleaning this up for me? Ask one of the guys to help you okay."
"Yes, sir right away." She hurries back into the house.
"Are you coming?" He stands up and covers his eyes with his sunglasses that were resting on his head.
"Coming?"
"Yes, We are taking you back home."
"Home? I don't understand."
