Smokey orange rays bounce through the trees as it starts to fade. I close my eyes and press my head against the window. His touch lingers, slightly  burning my hand.

"Hot enough?" Shane's voice sounding concerned.
"Just a little longer" I open my eyes to see his reflection adjusting the heater. My own reflection interrupts forcing me to close my eyes again.

"Are you hungry?" He asks with his tone seeming more upbeat. Confused, I look up and see a sign approaching. Pink flashes lighting up the sky.
"How long have we been driving?" My stomach growling, I give him a nod to pull over.

The sound of keys rattles as he unbuckles himself, "Forever! If you ask me," Giving me a wink exposing his perfectly polished teeth.

He opens his door and walks around the car towards me. He pulls his black coat collar around his neck as a puff of breath escapes his mouth. My car door swings open and I take his hand pulling me up while I tug my other hand around my middle and under my arm. We walk towards the diner.

We both order a regular burger meal and make our way to a booth next to a window.
"Seriously!" I say under my breath, sliding into the booth.

"What?" Shane looks at the direction I turned from.

"Nothing...."
His eyes narrows, hinting at a response.

"I hate seeing my own reflection." I sigh knowing he was not going to let this go.

A puzzled look forms on his forehead, "What's wrong with your reflection? You're Breathtak-" The sound of him clearing his throat cuts off his sentence and his olive coloured cheeks change slightly.

"I'm sorry, what was that?"
"What was what?"

"That last bit?"

Shane pulls his plate closer as the waitress places it on the table. Hovering she shoots a smile at him while folding a strand of hair behind her ear. "Do you need anything else?" Her seductive tone lowers. Shane's gaze gets interrupted with the sound of glass tumbling in the kitchen.
"Excuse me." She storms off disappointed.

"Saved by the noise huh?" I tease while taking a bite. His eyes fixed on mine he slowly takes a sip of his drink.

"So. Your reflection?"
"Nothing, it's... Excuse me." I drop the burger and slide off the bench.
With his hand firmly wrapped around my wrist I stumble back.

"Where are you going?"

"I am going to the bathroom, do you mind!" I snap while digging my fingers underneath his. His grip loosens and a stern look flashes over his face.

"Don't go running now okay." He says making it sound playful.
"Sure." I brush past him and half jog towards the bathroom.

Sure? Seriously... Is that all you could say?

I clench the sink. A sigh of relief splashes over me, cooling my face and feeling the anger lift.

Maybe not such a bad idea to run...
But where will you go?
I don't know? Anywhere-

"-Busy!" I hear the door behind me rattling.
"Sage! Open the door!"

"Just give me a minute Shane! Geez you don't have to-"
"-Open this door NOW!"

I grab onto the door handle and turn the lock. "Seriously Shane, I was not going to run, I just wanted to-" The door flies open, I fall back while grabbing onto the sink. Shane storms in shutting the door behind him.

"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING-" His hand wraps around my mouth. Using his body he forces me against the wall. 'Shh.' he mouths as I hear something clip by his waist. My scream muffled by his hand, I beat on his chest refusing to look into his eyes.
