CHAPTER 19 - Find Him

Start from the beginning

Hm... That was a good day...

"Sage Hon, I am so sorry that I'm going to run out on you like this... I just need to meet the caterers quickly. Do you mind staying for dinner?"
"Uhm, no not at all... That would be lovely, thank you Grace." I say quickly feeling put under a spotlight.

"Great! Thank you my dear... Oh! There is another box full of photos in my room. Maybe you can go through those so long while you wait for me. Unless you want to come with?"
"No it's okay I'll stay and go through the pictures. We have a lot of ground to cover." I say smiling.

"Yes we do hey. Okay, perfect! I'll be back soon."
She hurries off and I hear the door close behind her.

Why we need to do this birthday thing when we don't even know where he is, I don't know... I know it makes her feel better but we should be out there looking for him. Not celebrate his damn birthday!

I walk upstairs towards Grace's bedroom and enter the door.

But of course I need to smile and pretend I am okay when I am not...

I look around and can't see the box Grace was talking about.

Where is this damn box?
Maybe in Devan's room?

I walk out and into Devans room. I see a box sitting on the desk and I take a look.

Got it.

I pick it up and turn around. Instantly my body freezes and the box drops from my hands.

"Shit! I'm sorry..."
I say quickly trying to pick up the photos while trying not to look at Shane wrapped only in a towel. I take the last picture and place it in the box.

"Grace said I have to... Um... there is a box... We were going to sort..." I stop talking, realizing nothing but nonsense was coming out of my mouth. His blank expression forms a feeling of intimidation inside me.

"Want to try that again?" His voice seems to be stronger than before.
"Your mom had to see the caterers and asked me to get this box... she said it would be in her room but I guess it's-"

My words fall flat seeing him move closer to me slowly.

"Am I making you uncomfortable?"
His voice hangs low as it feels like his presence is busy invading me.

"What..." I clear my throat. "What are you doing Shane?"

I feel something inside me begin to ignite.

"What do you want me to do?"

"What do you mean?"

His sudden grip around my arm sends a chill running down my spine.

"Come on Sage. I can see the way you look at me. I know deep down inside you feel something for me. You just have to admit it."

"Shane..." I try to walk past him but his grip has me standing dead in my tracks.

"So the other time didn't mean anything? Is that why you have been avoiding me?"

I swallow down the lump in my throat.

"We were drunk and not in our right minds... What happened should have never happened!"

I pull my arm out of his grip and walk past him. His grip around my wrist sends the box tumbling to the floor and I spin around and feel his body firm against me.

"You and I both know it wasn't nothing. Sage that night was not just us being drunk. I can't stop thinking about you... about us... I need to feel you-"
"-Shane no! You're still drunk. I can smell the alcohol on your breath. Please don't do this..."
