"Quite!"His voice sounding firm.
No longer able to control my breathing, I feel my chest closing in. My body caving from the constant pressure, I start shaking. I grab his hand and feel my body shutting down.
"Look at me!" His hand tugs at my jaw and my heart feels like it's being torn from me.
"No...No...No...NO!" My words sounding faint under his hand as I weep.
His eyes look different: darker; hollow like he saw nothing in front of him. I was nothing.
Okay okay... Pretend...
I gather my composure nodding quickly. The pressure slowly starts to fade from my chest.
"There are-"
I push him and swing open the door, letting out a howl as I fall to the floor.
Spine-Chilling screams flood the diner as my ears sing at a sound cracking through the air. My head pounding, I look up and see a man lying in front of me. Shock grips me. Feeling paralyzed, I gape unable to breathe.
I feel Shane firmly holding my arm and starts dragging me backwards behind the counter and through the kitchen door. His body moving swiftly against the wall and I stumble after him, unable to loosen myself.
Terror runs rampant, I obey his every move, every order. Everything around me becomes blurry as we go through the back door while creeping against the floor moving towards the parking lot.
"Don't move!" Shane peeks around the corner and immediately lowers himself against the wall. His hands moving swiftly he unclips the magazine and pushes it back before cocking it in the air.
"Do exactly as I say, understood?" His nostrils flare pulling me towards him. My mind jumps from one place to another as I nod repeatedly not knowing what to focus on.
"Come!" Shane's gip stiffens as he leads the way.
My ears bleed at the same cracking sound flying through the air as we come to a standstill. My eyes locked, I dig my nails into the hard fabric pressing against my chest. The sound ripples through the air again. I tighten my grip.
"Up, let's go!" Shane cuffs his hand under my arm yanking me up against him. I realize I was clinging to his leg and was soon met with a sight of horror. Two men spread out on the tar. Before being able to process Shane's voice cuts through me; "Get in the car! Move!"
Everything around me starts spinning at the speed we're moving. A screeching sound is all that is left behind.
I look at Shane holding his phone to his ear.
"Detective Shane Colton - SS Unit, 10-20 Compromised. 1-9-7, West, on-route 6-6.
3 suspects disarmed. Package secured. Black bird's a go, send coordinates."
"Roger 10-23."
The calming tone in Shane's voice making me question the reality that unfolded at the Diner.
I noticed the GPS screen light up with random numbers starting to appear.
"10-20 confirmed, over." He drops the phone between his legs, gripping the wheel with an emotionless gaze.
"Shane, slow down please..." I stutter, feeling my body melt into the seat.
Light bounces on the road in front of us followed by a roaring sound as we pave our way through the never ending darkness.
"Shane, please just slow DOWN!" My voice screeching, I dig my nails into the seat.

A sudden jerk sends my body crashing to the side then a rash force pulling me against the glove compartment.
"GET OUT!" Shane sends his door flying and makes his way around before swinging my door, grabbing my arm. My feet leaving a trail behind, I hang on his arm trying to stop the pressure.
"SHANE! PLEASE... I... Please... No... No... No..." My begging falls deaf as I twist my body, digging my heels into the dirt trying to run. Tugging me, I lose my balance, he pushes against me lifting me up over his shoulder. My body tenses to the point of numbness, unable to escape. I silently accept my fate.

"Here, take this." I am met with a glass of water and piercing green eyes.
Petrified I keep still. I feel his warm touch around my neck as he lowers the glass. The sweet taste trickle down my throat, I lean forward taking the glass from him.
Careful not to make sudden movements I lower the glass keeping his gaze.
"You didn't kill me?"
"WHAT?"
"You heard me Shane." My fear turns to anger.
"I don't like your tone Sage, after I-"
"-After what, huh? After you attacked me in the bathroom and tried to, to - YOU killed those men!" My breath gets sucked out with the vivid picture flashing before me.
"Tried to what?" His voice lowers as his eyebrows arch.
"You're a..." I lower my head into my hands.
"SAY IT!"
My silence breaking like a fragile glass by Shane's roaring voice.
"MURDERER!" My head shoots up, I scream, feeling tears rushing down my cheeks.
Storming at me, he stops and grabs onto the side of the bed. Inches away I can see the veins in his eyes.
"Is that what you think of me? After I was doing my job?" His voice overpowers mine.
"Is that all I am to you, nothing but a job?" I push myself up against him sitting on my knees.
"I saw it in your eyes Shane, in the bathroom you looked through me like I was nothing to you!" I feel my heart beating in my throat but I push it down not letting my fear show.
"After all this time... I can take the fact that you think I am a murderer but thinking you're nothing to me... You have no idea what you are to me!" His eyes drop as those words roll from his mouth storming out of the room.
My tears turning sour. I whisper: "No idea?"
