Niall || Part Four

Start from the beginning

“So, how did this whole thing start…?” I asked.

His eyes widened, as if realizing something. “She never told you about it, did she…?”

“She told me you said something that she gave you another chance and it was a bad idea,” I said.

He flinched, looking away. “I probably deserved that…”

“What was this about, Joe?” I asked, determined.

He rolled his eyes, smirking even? “Hope this doesn’t boost your ego, but she thought the ‘tryout’ wasn’t working out.” My eyes widened. What? “Apparently, she just couldn’t see me as anything more than a friend anymore,” he shrugs, “I went and said that because I had a feeling it involved you…”

I was taken aback. I never expected this to happen.

Was Joe never an obstacle from the beginning? Was it all really just pointless jealousy?

“…I didn’t like seeing her cry…I regret seeing her cry, so please tell her I didn’t mean what I said,” he sighs again, “I’m sure you love her deeply,” he added jokingly, snickering.

And, even I, couldn’t help but chuckle at his comment. “Whatever, guess my jealousy got the best of me,”  said, giving him a high-five.

“Jealous of me? Dude, I ruined my chances, I’m the one jealous of you.” For some reason, he looked pretty pitiful smiling and laughing saying something like that. He probably meant it. “Demi’s okay, right?” he asks, looking deeply concerned.

I nodded. “Yeah, holding a small grudge towards Tyra, but it’s all good.”

He smirked, finding the idea of Demi holding a grudge funny. “A grudge? What did she do?”

“Not much, rejected some doughnuts that were a peace offering.”

“She refused to eat…?”

“Sort of, yeah, I guess,” I shrugged. Noticing how worried he suddenly looked, I asked, “Something wrong?”

He shook his head. “Nah, she can’t possibly be going through it again, she’s already beaten it.”

‘It’?” I raised an eyebrow.

He placed a hand on my shoulder turning away from me. “It’s nothing. Don’t worry, it’s impossible.”

He left, leaving me wondering, but I quickly shook it off, soon, the boys and I would be arriving in the U.S. and I’d be able to see Demi after so long.

I was excited about it, and I just needed to plan a bit more.

_

I talked it over with Liam a bit more, and then called some people in the U.S. that I knew of to help me plan the date. They were more than happy to be of help, and they chose a pretty great spot too. It was perfect scenery for the night, because I’d be arriving mid-afternoon, and I was planning to add in a café date; the same café Demi and I had a date in, a couple months ago.

It was perfect, too! They needed to fix up the place a bit more.

I was going to buy snacks and everything else on arrival.

And that’s exactly what I did! You could even call it barging into a random grocery store! I was that excited!

After successfully buying every snack and drink I wanted, I called one of my pals who helped choose the location to bring the food and prepare it n a picnic basket. He would also take it to the picnic, of course.

       All is swell!

Now, I was in front of the door to Demi’s apartment, holding the little gift behind my hands. I was grinning from ear to ear, and my face was starting to ache, but I was too happy to care.

“Hey, Demi!” I exclaimed, not bothering to knock on the door. I was on my toes just beaming for her reaction.

“Niall?”

Hint: What Joe said mattered to how Demi was acting. (I'll let your imagination fill the plot hole c;)

P.S. I stopped it at that point because I’m going to make the next chapter longer, I SWEAR! *cough* and it’s sort of the last chapter *cough* MAYBE! BYEEEE!
