FOURTY ONE

"good evening bellatrix, don't you think introductions are in order?" Dumbledore asked

"love to albus but i'm afraid we're on a bit of a tight schedule" she snapped back

"go on draco now" she whined in his ear.

i could see in his eyes he couldn't do it.

my heart was pounding as the other death eaters giggled at him.

i lowered his arm and raised mine instead.

i took a few steps towards Dumbledore as everyone went silent watching me.

"you don't have to be like your father y/n" dumbledore said softly

i glared at him hesitantly

"go on princess" fernir laughed.

i glanced at draco for a moment who looked petrified.

i couldn't bare it.

i heard someone else walking up and i rushed with adrenaline.

"avada kerdevera" i said heartlessly.

snape appeared next to me.

he must've been the one i heard coming.

the green light flashed from the tip of my wand and hit Dumbledores chest.

The world seemed to have stopped for a moment as i watched his lifeless body fall and it sunk in on what i'd just done.

my eyes were fixed on where he was standing only moments ago.

I felt Draco lightly tug on my hand. I turned to see what he wanted and realised it was time to go

I focused my mind and hurried off the tower with the others.

We marched through the castle behind Snape as he lead us through the great hall.

Bellatrix hopped up onto the Gryffindor table kicking the plates and glasses off as she made her way forward.

each one smashed to bits on the floor.

She stopped and let out an ear piercing screech as she shattered the window at the front letting in a cold wind.

I saw Dracos face and it matched mine perfectly.

Fear.

Snape continued leading us outside towards hagrids hut.

Bellatrix took it upon herself to light it on fire.

She cackled as she let out a little dance proud of what she had done.

my god.

harry potter came storming down the hill and i wondered what he knew.

he began shooting spells between snape as i approached them.

harry turned to me.

"how does it feel?" he asked and i looked at him blankly

"how does it feel to know you've caused all this. you've cost hundreds of lives all because your his daughter" harry snapped.

he didn't know what he was saying but it still stung.

i couldn't speak.

my voice wasn't coming out.

draco pulled me away yet again as we all continued into the forbidden forest.

bellatrix lead us past the apparation boundary and we all apparated back to Malfoy manor.

The tall black gates screeched open and we made our way to the house.

Narcissa was waiting at the door.

her eyes swarmed with relief once she saw draco was alive.

She brought us all straight to the meeting room where my father and the other death eaters were waiting.

"ahh you've made it at last" My father said watching us all sit down.

his eyes fixed to me.

"now tell me y/n. was the mission a success?" he asked

"yes father. he's dead" i replied heartlessly

"and who was it that killed albus dumbledore?" he asked

"it was me Father" i replied

"i see, i was sceptical at first that you would both fail me again but you have proven me wrong" he admitted

"now that that's all settled you may all go" he announced

i'd never gotten up faster.

i went immediately upstairs and to dracos room.

he followed behind me.

we locked and silenced the door.

the first thing he did was crash his lips into mine.

"it's done y/n. we're finally done" he said hopefully

i nodded knowing we'd never truly be done.

my father would give us something else to do.

for now i let him be relieved.

he deserved it.

i buried my face in his chest as the memories of the past few hours relapsed in my head.
