The next morning you wake up, entangled in Ghost's arms. You feel his breath against your neck through his mask. His arms are wrapped tightly around you and you can feel his chest inflate against your back as he breathes. You twist in his arms and look at him. His eyes are closed. He was usually awake whenever you woke up, but now it seems like he might still be sleeping. Seeing him sleeping soundly gives you an idea. Carefully, you try and wriggle out of his arms and you're able to get out of his hug without waking him up. When you stand up on your legs, you feel your left one shaking a lot and you have to sit down on the bed for a few seconds before getting up again. You pull on a t-shirt before walking out of the bedroom.
When you open the bedroom door, Tip is sitting outside, meowing loudly.
"Shh." You hush quietly at her, your pointer finger in front of your mouth. As you walk to the kitchen, she follows you, walking between your legs, almost like she's trying to trip you over.
Ghost had been in charge of feeding and caring for the cats, but you had seen him do it many times. You reach for the cabinet where all the cat food was stored. Tip is meowing impatiently as you prepare a bowl of food for her and it wakes up the kittens who all come running, begging for food of their own. After making sure the kittens also have gotten their food and that the water in their bowls is fresh, you get started on making breakfast.
It's hard to make breakfast, you're still not used to how limited you've become due to your hands, but you make sure to do your best. You make toast, scrambled eggs, and some bacon. Then you try to make a cup of tea. Ghost has made you enough cups of tea that you at least have an idea of how to do them properly now, but you are still a bit unsure of how much milk and sugar he wants in it. You take a small sip of the tea when it's done, it doesn't taste as good as when he makes it, but it's not too bad.
When everything is done, he still hasn't woken up, and you decide to carry everything into the bedroom. At first, you consider carrying it all on a tray, but that would be too heavy so you decide to carry the plate and the mug separately. You sit down next to him on the bed and gently shake his shoulder. His eyes squeeze together for a quick second before he slowly opens them. You can tell that he starts to smile when his eyes focus on you. He grunts slightly and turns from laying on his side to laying on his stomach, but with his face turned toward you.
"Mornin' early bird." Ghost mumbles, closing his eyes.
"I made you breakfast."
He opens one eye and looks at you and then toward the nightstand that you motion to. You can see the surprise in his eyes when he sees that you've made breakfast for him and he turns back around before sitting up.
"You did?"
"Yes." You say as you grab the cup of tea and hand it over to him. It was pretty easy to hold the cup because of the handle, even if it was a bit heavy.
