Seeking Solace

In the depths of despair, my heart is heavy and sore,
I reach out to you, my love, I implore.
How are you doing? I hope you're alright,
Though I'm not, I yearn for solace tonight.

As thoughts consume me, of what could have been,
If we had held on, if we hadn't given in,
Regret weighs upon me, a burden so deep,
And in the night's embrace, I find no respite or sleep.

I ponder the moments I should have improved,
The mistakes I made, the love I once behooved.
Imperfect, indeed, but never unfaithful,
Unlike the one who shattered us, causing pain so dreadful.

I'm sorry for the anguish I've caused, my dear,
For the tears you shed, for the hurt so clear.
In reflection, I see the ways I fell short,
Yet my remorse cannot mend what's been torn apart.

But still, I wish you solace, a mending of hearts,
A path to healing, where new hope imparts.
May you find happiness, where pain once stood,
And I'll bear my own sorrow as best I could.

So, tell me, my love, how are you doing today?
I hope you're well, that you've found your own way.
Though darkness engulfs me, my hope's not in vain,
That someday we'll find peace and love once again.
