"I need to check on her guys!" Tess was rushing to get ready for class, having left Mayuri behind t everyone got home late last night and crashed "Babe" Brook tried to slow Tess down "Can't believe I'm saying this-" Brook facepalmed grabbing his girl by wrist "Gano and Douglas are right..school can wait."
Tess stared at him for several seconds, then got back to gathering up what she needed to go "Keys. Smoothie. Oh!" running back to the bedroom, she dug through clothes before pulling out her favorite coat "Guys, let's get ready to go " Brook sighed giving Gano and Douglas puppy dog eyes "Fine, just stop doing whatever that is" Gano shrugged his shoulders, wearing blue hand me down pajamas he slipped on some slippers "You're not going to change?"
Douglas asked looking him up and down "No" Gano answered "Why?" Douglas shook his head "No reason" Mean while Brook released Tess from his grip as he held out his hand demanding the keys "Fine!" Tess stomped "Have it your way!" eye and neck rolling she opened and slammed their apartment door "Jeez!" Brook sucked his teeth "Can't believe she complains when I slam the door!"
It didn't take long before they all headed down and piled in-a quiet car ride ensued "Sooooooooo-" Gano started, he and Douglas rode backseat together like before "Are we just gonna never discuss Mayuri the other day?" Gano was first to speak up "Nothing to discuss Gano" Douglas answered "She said she wanted us to leave her alone, so we had no choice but to leave." Gano measured the car's temperature "Guess so-"
Disappointment written all over his face, he tried his best to shake the unsettling feeling he had "Losing someone close can break someone's spirit and rob them of soul, I get she attacked us before but-" Brook slammed the brakes causing everyone to fall forward then back "Babe!"
Tess looked over concerned "Gano you've got a lot of nerve-" Brook turned around shooting the green-haired man a glare "Don't forget we know in some way, shape, or form these freaks coming after us are cause of you!!" Gano looked away "Yeah, I know."
He muttered under his breath audible enough to be heard "Don't feel no type of way!! Just don't get on a high horse and judge!! We're regular humans that can die! Even Douglas' 'gift' won't stop a bullet being shot through his skull if you weren't here!! Not everyone gets to be a hero and play it call-most of us just don't want to die!"
Waiting patient to see if there was a response, no one made a peep-tension so thick it could be with a thick "Hey man-" Brook squirmed in his seat as he began pressed the gas looking forward "I didn't mea-" Gano cut him off "It's fine." his tone had a hint of finality "That's how you feel, it's no need to apologize
Arriving on campus, they parked near front "Tess" Brook warned "Don't stay in there to long, sure you don't want us to come?" Tess waved his worries off "Nah, just gonna take a quick peak to see if she's alive, and make sure she knows we're good!"
Hopping out and taking off not missing a skip or beat Brook, Gano, and Douglas all shared a worried look "Sure we should've let that slide?" Douglas asked aloud, Brook took of his red maroon cap and scratched his head "Known Tess longer than me, when's the girl ever been stopped?"
Douglas checked on Gano who had fallen asleep 'Great time to nap' he thought "True" he answered Brook "Still, in light of recent events, gotta be extra careful y'know? It's like we've got targets on our backs." Brook yawned "Yeah, well guess we kind of do, least we got sleepy over here to watch em' for us" Douglas an eyebrow "Confident in him all a sudden?"
Brook snorted "Eh...more like seen what he can do, when he gets in that mode he can kind of badass" he smirked "Still-" Gano's snoring started to grow loud "If he were an actual bodyguard something tells me he might not last long on the job" Douglas couldn't help but laugh, giving Gano a shake to see if he'd wake up "Probably not..."
