THE PARTY IS A BLAST. Everyone arrived an hour ago... well we're still missing Lita and Julie, but they'l be there soon but for now everything has been going great. Presents that Rose can't wait to open are piling up, music is playing in the background while the adults talk among themselves, and the kids are running around.

Rose is being the life of the party. She loves being the centre of everyone's attention, even though it was a little bit rough at the beginning, however now she's loving it and soaking it all in.

As I'm talking to my mother and siblings, the buzzer goes off and that can only mean one thing. I excuse myself and leave the room to open the door to Lita and her niece. They're standing there, a huge smile appearing on their faces when they see me. Both of them are holding boxes covered in wrapping paper under their arms and I can't help but roll my eyes because Lita already got Rose something.  "You didn't have to you know, you already got her something yesterday!"

"I just wanted to make a good impression on your family... that's all!" She lets out nervously. I let them in, of course, and close the door after the girls. I hold the presents while they take off their shoes and I notice Lita's shaky hands.

Looks like someone is a bit nervous.

"The tables have turned..." I chuckle a little, earning a glare from the brunette and a little 'shush'. "Don't shh me darli–" Before I can finish my sentence, Lita is tackled to the ground by Rose. Neither of us noticed her running towards us and took Lita by surprise when she ran into her legs which caused the both of them to fall. Though, it seems like no one is injured as they're both laughing uncontrollably.

They eventually calm down but say glued to each other. I kinda feel like a third wheel, but they're both cute, so I'll let it slide. "Hey there birthday girl! How's the party going?" Lita asks.

"It's great and now that you're here I can finally have cake! Right mommy?" Rose turns to me, looking with pleading eyes. I know I shouldn't have said we could have cake when Lita gets here, but I panicked and now here we are. It's too early to have cake, but I can't back out now.

"Lita just got here baby, give her a minute then we'll have cake." I try but Rose isn't having any of it.

"But you said I get cake hen Lita gets here, and she's here now, so I get cake now!" She argues. Tears well up in her eyes and she whines pitifully. Se lets her head fall on Lita's chest. Lita's arms immediately wrap around her while I kneel next to them to rub Rose's back, but she pushes my hand away. "No it's not fair!"

"Hey! No need to get upset... Look who is here!" Lita points to Julie who is hiding behind me. Rose's face light up instantly. I swear, her mood switches will always surprise me. Lita gets up and places Rose down despite my daughter not wanting to be put down. The awkwardness only pasts a second before the both of them take off. I wait until they're out of sight to apologize to Lita, but she doesn't let me. "She's just excited that's all. I'd be too if I was promised cake and couldn't have any." She reasons with me and ends the discussion.

When we join everyone in the living room, the girls are having fun shooting the guests with Nerf guns but for now, it's just fun still. We didn't say anything until two bullets hit us. We look around for the culprits, and the two giggling girls are hiding behind the couch. "Girls, be careful please." Lita calls out and even if they answer yes, I'm pretty sure they didn't even listen.

It's been a little while now, and Lita and I can stay in our corner for too long, and we can't keep avoiding my family. So I guess now is time to introduce them. "Julie, Rose, come here for a second."
