"No, I'm sorry, I can't do this"
I shook my head and stepped back.
"Sapphire..." he said, almost pleading.
"Sorry, just please, stay away from me"
I turned my back on him and left him there.
The foundation week was blurry to me after that, I didn't want to see him.
"What did you do to him?"
Crystal pushed me on the lockers making everyone looked.
"I said, what did you do to him, you witch?!"
She keeps on pushing my shoulder on a really strong force.
"First, my place on the Dean's list and now, Josh! What are you up to? What the hell do you want? Why are taking all of what's mine?!" she shouted.
I didn't speak, I'm not even sure if I still have a voice, I was mostly quiet when I wasn't in class.
"Answer me, wench!"
My eyes were weary as I look at her, she looks pissed and irritated, I just lightly pushed her and left without saying anything.
"This is frustrating, I'm not like this" I ranted all by myself.
I have avoided Josh once more, its not like I have something to tell him.
I frustratedly ran my fingers through my hair.
"He shouldn't have said anything like that, he... he's lying, he just feels bad that I'm alone, yeah, that's it, that's all it is" I convinced myself.
I ran down that conversation with myself all ovwr my head.
"He's just pitying me for being an outcast, a poor ass scholar of the academy"
Yeah, that's it, go on Sap, you're starting to convince yourself.
I turned to the corner and bumped onto someone.
"Sorry, sorry" I said.
"Its fine" he casually said.
See? He can be casual with me, and I can't do that! Even just glance at him without feeling uneasy.
I shook my head and lightly slapped my cheeks.
"Stop it, Sapphire, its nothing, he isn't really attracted to you, its just pity"
Carl went today a little early.
"This is a miracle" I joked.
"Father's gone out of the house, finally, so yeah, I'm early"
I smiled at least someonw has a good day between us.
"Why don't you go home early tonight?"
I shook my head.
"I'll finish my shift, besides, its just a few minutes away"
He nodded and went to the locker to place his things.
"By the way, are you free this Saturday?" Carl asked.
"I have classes on Saturday, but in the morning only, why?"
"I was wondering if we can watch some movie or something"
"Oh, sorry, I have work on Saturday after class"
He pursed his lips and nodded.
"How about on Sunday?"
"I don't have a day off at work, Carl"
"You're really serious about this part time job, huh?"
"Of course, its the only help I can offer to my mom"
