Ruikasa: And They Were Roommates

Chapter 14 ⭐️

Rui's POV:

I groaned as Emu shook me by my shoulders, attempting to wake me up.

"Ruiiiii~ wakey wakey eggs and bakey!!" She sang

"Nooooo go away" I grumbled trying to seat her hands away

"Ooooh Tsukasa! Kiss him and he'll wake up! Like in fairytales!!" The girl suggested and I shot up, my face warming quickly

'Tsukasa kiss me?? I mean, not saying no but what the hell Emu??" I thought as I pushed her off me

"Oh! Good morning!" She smiled as she fell backwards

"Morning, Emu" I yawned

"Nene and Tsukasa are going to reserve tables at a breakfast place down the street!! They want you to get ready, they're about to leave!"

"Oh yeah, sure I'll do that" I mumbled

"Emu, did you say my name?" Tsukasa asked, peeking around the corner from the bathroom doorway

"Mhm, I was saying you were going to be leaving soon" she nodded

"Oh, I thought I heard you say something else but ok" he shrugged, looking at me "get up lazy ass or else we'll leave without you" he teased, walking to the front door, where Nene was leaning against the wall, scrolling through her phone

I nodded and got up, grabbing the extra clothes I brought for today and heading to the bathroom to change.

It didn't take long to get ready, and before I knew it I was walking to the elevator with the other three.

"Here, you need this" Nene joked as she handed me a piece of gum

"But I brushed my teeth, I'm not a child" I grumbled, taking it from her anyways

"Not very well" she giggled as I rolled my eyes, popping the gum in my mouth

As we headed down the elevator and out onto campus, we chatted loudly, still having things to talk about despite talking all of last night. The restaurant was a couple blocks away, about a 20 minute walk, but it was fine, my only complaint is that it was cold out.

"So what kind of restaurant is this?" Tsukasa asked as we neared it

"Any typical one you'd see on TV, nothing exciting, but the food is really, really good" Nene nodded

"The waffles are the best!" Emu added as we walked inside, where a lady stood at the front, ready to guide us to a table

"Hello, 4 for you today?" She asked

"Please" Tsukasa said

The lady nodded and grabbed some menus, before leading us to a window booth. Emu and Nene sat on one side together and Tsukasa and I slid onto the bench across from them.

"Can I get you folks started with anything to drink?" She asked as we sat down

"Water all around and..." I trailed off, looking the the others

"Hot chocolate for everyone too!" Emu said "Trust me you guys will love it" she said with a smile

"Alright, is that all?" The lady asked again

"Yes, thank you" Tsukasa nodded and the lady walked away

"What's great about the coco?" I asked

"Oh it's everything! It's got the perfect sweetness and it's the perfect temperature every time somehow and it's the ideal cup!" The pinkette explained

"Yeah, it's different than what you'd make at home or get at a Cafe, it's beyond better here" Nene chimed in

"Absolutely!!" Emu grinned

We chatted and read off our menus, eventually deciding on what we were getting. It didn't take long for our drink to get here. This time our waitress was here and the bidder had moved on to a different group of customers.

"Hello, my name is Eri, I'll be serving you today, here are your drinks" she smiled as she set them in front of us "Now can I get any food started for you guys?"

"Yes, could I please have the fluffy pancakes with the side of fruit?" Nene asked, as Eri nodded

"Of course"

"And I'll have the blueberry crepes with whipped cream please!" Emu ordered, the waitress wrote it down

"And you boys?"

"Could I have the waffles?" Tsukasa asked

"Of course, what side would you like with that?"

"Um...surprise me"

"Alright then" she smiled, turning to me

"I'll have the Biscuits and Gravy with a side of Bacon" I nodded and she wrote it down

"Alright, I'll have your food out shortly" she grinned as she walked away

I smiled and sighed as Emu and Kasa sipped on there cocoa

"Whoa, this is great Emu" Tsukasa exclaimed

"I know right!" She beamed, taking another big gulp

I decided to get in on the excitement and drank some of my own. As the drink fell into my mouth my eyes widened. Holy shit it was really good. I drank some more and smiled.

I let my hands down to my side, Kasa must've done the same thing because our hands brushed mid way. We looked at each other and smiled awkwardly. Even if it was quick contact, my crush on him wasn't making it easy to brush off.

"So uh" Kasa started "you're trip, what's it gonna be like?"

"I'm not sure yet, Emu has most of the details, tell them love" Nene hummed

Emu put her cocoa down, swallowing another big gulp and wiping the excess stuff off her face

"I have family who live along the coast, so we'll be driving up to see them, but it's far so we'll be stopping at a bunch of hotels along the way. All the places we booked look super duper pretty! We'll be driving for 2 days, staying at a hotel close to my Aunts house, and then drive home during the last 2 days" she explained cheerfully

"Lucky, I'd love to travel right now" Kasa whined

"Same, you guys are lucky"

Emu giggled and scratched her neck "yeah I guess we are"

For the next 15 minutes we chatted until our food came out, but once we started eating we grew quiet, the only sounds were forks and knives against our plates.

Emu and Nene, did in fact have a car, Kasa and I shared one too, but none of us ever used them. For the most part they just sat in the Universities parking garage, but I suppose Emu and Nene would actually be using it for once since they'd be traveling. In fact, we would all be once it started snowing.

I didn't like driving, it was to much to think about, that's why on the rare occasion Kasa and  I actually went somewhere in it I'd let him drive, because unlike me he enjoyed it. Honestly I prefer walking.

We finished our food and got the check, which we split 50/50.

The walk back felt quick, and before long we were back in the girls room, packing our stuff up and saying goodbye.

"Have fun on your trip, stay safe ok" I said as I hugged Nene

"Of course, I'll text you when we get to each spot, I know you worry" She assured

"Thank you" I nodded, letting go of her and hugging Emu

"Have fun Mu" I smiled

"Alright Ru" she snickered as she pulled away

Tsukasa opened the door and we walked out, waving to them

"See you in a week!" The two of us said in unison as the girls waved

We turned around, facing forward, and heard the door shut behind us as we pressed the elevator button, heading back up to our room.
