"Mia we don't know that for sure" Lev says with a sad expression, her own eyes twinkle slightly.

"Lev you can't just go on telling me for years  that you believe this is my mother and then suddenly tell me that it might not be her after all. Either it is or it isn't"

"We're about to find out, we're minutes away from finding out the whole truth so let's go" Max says stepping in between us shutting the file cabinet. "I'm sorry, I didn't know her personally but it's not every day I see you upset over someone so she must've been special"

I look up from the floor to Max who has a soft look about him, I nod taking my gun from Nicholas and continue moving forward. Whatever I just saw has to wait especially if I want to set this whole thing right. I've never been the saving type, personally I don't think I'm really good at it but one thing I know I can do is get revenge. People always say the dead don't want anything and that never made sense to me, not when they're lives were stolen, not when something like this had happened to them. I'm going to shred whoever did this into absolutely pieces.

~Nicholas~

As she swiftly makes her way to other rooms I find myself wanting to pull her back, tell her to slow down and breath but I also know not to get in her way, especially when she's set her mind on something.

Max falls in line next to me shooting me a worried look and although I relate wholeheartedly to him I can't let him lose track of his surroundings, not now.

"Wait guys look at this"

Max stops as Levi shouts from behind but before even thinking about turning around I wait for Mia to stop, it's only then that I allow myself to take my eyes of her and onto Levi who's stepped into a whole other room to our left.

"Lev wait" Max shouts running in after her but I wait till Mia's beside me to step in. The moment we do it's like a whole different world. It feels like a hotel lobby almost and to me that rings a few too many alarms

~Mia~

As everyone splits up to look at their own little things Nicholas doesn't leave my side, and honestly he's smart for that because I want nothing more than to run off and finish this whole thing myself. I can feel his eyes scanning over every feature of mine trying to get something out of me, I sigh facing him.

"I'm fine, I'm not gonna run away and yes I do want to murder something"

He smiles briefly walking closer towards me, he pulls me in kissing my forehead so softly I want to break down in his arms right there. "I'm sorry" he whispers and I nod closing my eyes tightly shut.

"Bane" Max hesitates "could you come here for a sec"

Nicholas turns around to see Max looking freaked out to the bone, he hesitates when I pull back wanting to go the other way.

"Go, I'll be right here"

He shoots me a glare that I have to look away from because although I know he would never physically hurt me, he won't stop at gluing me to very floor I stand on. He walks off and I look at the many more papers that are spread across a light wooden table. These signatures seem to sign off expansion of something, the three of them begin talking but I can't make out what they're saying, and honestly right now I just want a little quite. Whatever it is I'll catch on later.

Goosebumps travel along my neck all the way to my cheeks from a cold draft that has past by to my right, I turn towards it but it's too dark and when I point my gun at it my flashlight picks up another room that's just hidden by a rounded corner. How the hell did we miss that one. I begin to near it and suddenly feel warmth seep towards me, the smell of wood being burned is hard not to pick up and it amazes me that none of us said anything about it.

The closer I get the more I see, there's light in here and a red carpet flooding the whole room, I step forward and something slams behind me. I spin around seeing a whole metal door in the way of my escape but I lift my gun scanning the whole room I'm in, but it's quite, only the wood being burnt comes to sound as it cracks under the heat. What the fuck is going on.

As I turn towards the fire place I finally notice that there's two large chairs centred towards it. They're old fashion and completely cushioned with a soft red fabric, way darker than the carpet and the dark brown wooden floors only makes it all stand out rather loudly. It's when I near it more that I notice a frail hand set on its armrest that I stop breathing, it's a women hand for sure, her nails are neatly done and a beautiful golden ring sits around her ring finger. My mom was never married, but this little fact brings me no peace. With my gun still raised I walk around the sofa chair and my heart stops.

"I've been waiting so many years to finally meet you Mia Evars" her smooth but old voice says. My legs seem to want to give in and I'm intent to give in, how could I not, I'm staring at a ghost.
