After their Hokulani Observatory trip, Ash and the others make their way to the ferry terminal to go back to Melemele Island. Surprisingly enough, Weavile was with them.
Kiawe: Um, Cloud?
Cloud: Yes?
Kiawe: Are you sure Weavile is not gonna...
Cloud: I'm sure it'll be fine. Weavile really seems to have changed.
Weavile: Vile!
Poipole: Poi?
Poipole flies ahead and notices a shortcut sign leading to a cave route.

Poipole: Poi, Poi...
The others notice the sign as well.
Ash: What's this?
Lana: It says "shortcut to the ferry terminal".
Mallow: Did you know about this, Sophocles?
Sophocles: Yeah. There's a route through these caves that goes straight to the port.
Ash: Sounds kinda fun!
Sophocles: Wanna go this way, then?
Everyone: Yeah!
Everyone then ventures into the cave system
Cloud: It's kinda dark in here. Will you be alright, Sophocles?
Sophocles: Well, yeah!
Shortly after, they all find themselves surrounded by glowing moss.

Ash: Awesome! The wall's glowing!
Sophocles: It's bright because the walls are covered in luminous moss.
Mallow: Ah, so you don't need a lamp. How convenient!
Lana: And it's a bit chilly in here.
Sophocles: Apparently one of the routes in this cave goes to Lanakila Mountain!
Lillie: I see! This must be quite a vast cave, then.
