Legally ours

We where all ready and where in the conference room beside dads office.

Dad connected the projector to his computer and then we where waiting for the judge and lawyers to join the call.

Derrick, Javon and I sat at the front of the conference room with the others sitting behind us, and shortly, the judge and lawyer entered the call.

"Hi, good afternoon to the Daniels family and more" the judge greeted, "good afternoon" we all answered in unison,

"We are gathered here today on this fine afternoon because Javon wants to join and become a part of this young people lives, Miss Elyssa Daniels and Mr Lee Derrick Jaeyin am I right?" The judge questioned,

Derrick and I looked at each other, "yes your honor" we both answered, "And to Javon Daniels, do you agree to let Mr Lee and Miss Daniels be your parents?" The judge questioned,

"Yes Mme" Javons little voice answered making everyone chuckle, "and to Mr Lee and Miss Daniels, do you accept Javon to be your son, to treat him like your own and be fully responsible for his needs as his parents and guardians?" The judge questioned,

"Yea we do your honor" Derrick and I answered in unison and the judge nodded,

"And for that, I now pronounce you three as a family and parents of Javon who will now go by the name Lee Javon Daniels which was requested by the parents and witnesses of the child" the judge said making everyone clap and we smiled,

"Congratulations, you will need to sign the papers now and send it to the court and you can keep the copy" the lawyer said,

"We already signed it, thank you so much Mr Gonzalez" I said, "congratulations" the judge said and we thanked once more before the call ended,

"Guess who are parents now!" Vanessa screamed, "congratulations, welcome to motherhood" Chelsea said, "thank you" I said smiling.

We all shared happy congratulations around the room, "Aunty does that mean Javon is my cousin?" Stephny asked and answered, "yes baby" I said,

"So I'm not your only baby now?" Steph asked again, "no baby, but I'll tell you what, you are my first baby and always will be my first baby" I said smiling and Steph smiled too,

"Welcome to the family Jj" Steph said, "Jj?" I asked,

"Yes that's what Bella and I call him and he likes it right Jj?" Stephny asked Javon and he nodded,

"Why don't we celebrate a little before you guys leave?" Dad said and we all nodded before walking to the dining room.

Mum had already cooked like she was preparing for a feast. We all sat down and Javon sat in between Derrick and I,

"Mum?" Javon called, "yes buddy?" I responded, "dad?" Javon turned to Derrick, "yes buddy?" Ricky also responded and Javon only smiled.

We started eating  and there was little chatting here and there, "Javon?" Mum called him and he looked up from his plate, "are you happy?" Mum asked,

"Yes I am, Mme" Javon responded, "grandma, I'm your grandma" mum said and Javon smiled, "and I'm your grandpa" Dad said and Javon also smiled.

"Elyssa you do know every 3 weeks Stephny comes for a weekend to spend time with us which means now you and Derrick will also have to bring Javon during those times" mum said,

"Yes mum, we will" I said, "that gives space for some me and you time then" Derrick said smiling, "stop being naughty" I said and we both laughed and the others smiled.

Soon enough we where done from the table and we where ready to start leaving.

"Bye aunty, bye uncle thank you so much for hosting us" Derrick said, "it was a pleasure son, hope to see you in three weeks when you come to drop off Javon" dad said and Ricky nodded,
