I sat in a nice plush armchair, the likes of which I normally didn't sit in as a butler, and Coleman took a spot on the sofa. He and I engaged some classic, slightly awkward small talk. I updated him on my life as of late, skimming over details of my professional success, and Prince Coleman complained about Charlie.

"Charles is rather incompetent," he said. "One would think he'd have a better handle on things by now, but he's really just a terrible butler."

"Why do you keep him on as your butler then?"

"I don't know." He shrugged. "He's very weird."

I rose an eyebrow.

"But he's rather amusing," the Prince continued. "And he tells me every bit of gossip about the servants. It's very enlightening. It's easy to forget that all the servants have lives and drama too."

I forced a smile. I still hate him, I thought. But no, I wasn't just here to chat and to catch up with Prince Coleman.

"I'm surprised you care so much about the servants," I admitted. "Now that Cassie no longer is one."
