* Introduction part (in English):

Hi Readers,

I have decided to write this story in English to cover all language audiences. First and Second part, I have written a separate chapter in English. Going forward , all the chapters would be in English only.

However, there would be some dialogues in Tamil which I feel to be pointed out in native language. But don't worry , I would also give the translations wherever Tamil dialogues are used.

Some of the tamil words used and its translation :

Maa - Mom

Paa /appa - Dad

Dei- Hey

Patti - Grandma

Mama/mami - general way of greeting the other person

namaskaram - Greetings

manni - Brother's wife

Vaango - come

da/di - calling someone in endearing manner - informal

Sreeja's POV:

Sreeja who is 26 years old works in an MNC and lives in Chennai with her Mom Dhanam, Dad Raman and Deepak, and grandmother.

Around 15 proposals came home and saw Sreeja and rejected for her various reasons like she is short, wearing specs, not confident enough.

Out of 15, Sreeja rejected 2 just because she wants to take revenge for her rejection, even though it is illogical.

She had made her parents stop this marriage alliance for few months because of all this depression. She is not that bold to go fall in love and marry.

Moreover she felt like if anything goes wrong or fight happens later on in marriage she can blame her parents for choosing her that life.

Not sure why mom is in angry mode today. Lets see what has happened,

Me: Maa. Its going to be 12pm . Still you have not cooked lunch

Dhanam: I always need to cook breakfast,lunch, evening coffee, dinner and the same routine daily. Am I a human being or some machine?

Me: Maa.. I just asked why you did not cook. Why are you getting tense for that? I even saw you going to market and bought lot of vegetables so thought you would be cooking

Dhanam: Even for grocery purchase and others, I only need to go.No one cares about anything. You are grown up a girl . In few days , you will get married and go. You should know to cook , how to buy vegetables and groceries.

Sreeja: Ya ya as if I am going to get married tomorrow itself . Why maa?? See I have told you before not to seek any marriage alliance for me

Dhanam: All the girls even the younger ones for you are getting married, I don't know why all the proposals are rejecting you. I don't know if I had done any sin because of which these are happening

Me: okk.. I understood. Did someone talk with you regarding my marriage? Paa... Dei Deepak, come here and ask your mom what has happened.

Deepak: Maa , what happened? Why are you angry?

Dhanam: Chitra called me. Her daughter's engagement is finalized for this July. Still my daughter is not yet married. Nothing works out for her.

Me: Now I see where this is all coming from. Morning you were very normal after coming from this market only , you have started behaving like this.

Raman: Very good, where is the groom working?

Dhanam: He is working in a big MNC in Chennai. This is the first alliance they met in temple and it worked out for them.

Deepak said in a low voice to Sreeja,'They could have told this information later to her. At least we would have had our lunch'.

Me: Maa. This is not a big deal, go and cook ma

Dhanam: No dii.. this is a prestige issue for me. Chitra is 2 years younger me and her daughter is around 5 years younger to you. She is getting married and you are yet to which I am worried.

Me: Maa. Go tell them, my daughter is planning to go abroad and that's the reason we are delaying

Dhanam: No , you cant go abroad. We are planning to fix marriage for you

Me: Maa, You already knew that I am more interested in onsite opportunity. Now I could see it coming, so don't say anything.

Raman: ok.. just leave it both of you. Look after other work. Dhanam you go and cook. Good things will happen when it is supposed to happen. Have faith in God

Dhanam: I will go and cook. My whole life is gone by cooking itself. No one is cared about nothing.
