Chapter 34 - Date Night

It was 5 hours till the date when Abhimanyu snuck back into Akshara's room to steal a quick kiss.

"So, there has been a change of plans. You need to pack an overnight bag." Abhimanyu informed her, pulling apart from the kiss.

"What? But how? What will I tell everyone?"

"Tell them you are staying the night with Krishika. Girls night out." He offered.

Akshara nodded her head. "Okay."

Before Abhimanyu turned to leave, he faced Akshara again. "I...I got us a room. But we don't have to anything you don't want to. I...I just want to hold you." He gave her a soft smile.

"Okay." She nodded her head in understanding.

Abhimanyu captured Akshara's mouth in another kiss before turning on his heel and leaving.

As soon as Abhimanyu had left, Akshara opened her phone and called Krishika. Krishika answered on the first ring.

"Hey girl!"

"Hey. I umm need a favour." Akshara mentioned hesitantly.

"Oh yeah? What is it?"

"If anyone calls, Neil or anyone, tell them I'm staying the night with you. We are going to be having a girl's night."

"But you are not though?"

"I know. I just need you to do me this small favour. I'll owe you."

"Who is the guy?" She asked point blank.

"I'll tell you everything but not right now. Please. Just do this for me?" Akshara pleaded.

"Okay. But I need the deets. Every single one of them."

"Promise!" Akshara promised.

"Have fun girl. I hope you get some action. Because I am running as dry as the Sahara dessert."

"Ew! Okay, yes, fine. Whatever, Krish. Thank you!"

"Love you!"

"Love you too!"  Akshara thanked her best friend before turning her phone off. Packing! She had to pack. Maybe a dress for tomorrow and some pajamas for tonight.

Abhimanyu and Akshara had planned the date, but the one thing they hadn't planned is how and when they'd be telling Manjiri about their plans. That is why both Akshara and Abhimanyu ended up entering the living room together with their overnight bags with neither of them being able to back off without seeming suspicious.

Abhimanyu was dressed in dark wash jeans, a white shirt and a burgundy bomber jacket. Akshara on the other hand was dressed in a matching burgundy spaghetti dress which cinched at the waist and stopped right above her knees. Her hair had soft wavy curls, with minimal makeup and black chunky heeled sandals pulling the look together.

"Maa!"

"Aunty!"

Manjiri looked up towards Abhimanyu and Akshara who passed glances towards each other.

"Yes? Why do you two have your bags packed?"

Abhimanyu went first. "Maa. Rohan invited me for a boy's get together. So I'm going to him and I'll be back tomorrow."

"Okay." Manjiri nodded her head and then looked towards Akshara.

"Krishika and I had a girls night planned since last week but I completely forgot about it till she reminded me this morning. So umm...is it okay if I go?"
