Into His Arms

~(Y/N)'s POV~

I sat for a few seconds, comprehending what Dings had told me. I was the reincarnated SOUL of someone close to him. So, just their SOUL? Where was their body? Was it SOULless? Did it dust like a normal monster would? Questions swirled through my head, leaving me slightly nauseous. A teacup was help in front of my by a disembodied hand, which could only belong to Dings. "𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙜𝙤, 𝙢𝙮 𝙙𝙚𝙖𝙧. 𝙄𝙩'𝙨 𝙂𝙤𝙡𝙙𝙚𝙣 𝙁𝙡𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙚𝙖. 𝙄𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙛𝙖𝙫𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙚," he said, his smile seeming to widen. I took it into my hands, the warmth alerting me to how cold I truly was.

"Thank you, Dings...Damn, it's freezing here...here...where are we?" Dings sat down, drinking from his own cup of tea. I took the change to sip from my cup. It was flowery, all right. Something in me felt content with the tea; it seemed right to drink it. Before I could linger on the odd feelings, Dings spoke up again. "𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙑𝙤𝙞𝙙. 𝙊𝙧, 𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧, 𝙖 𝙨𝙪𝙗𝙨𝙚𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙞𝙩. 𝙒𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙖𝙣𝙨 𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙠𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙚, 𝙄'𝙢 𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙑𝙤𝙞𝙙 𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙡𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙜𝙤 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙. 𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙩'𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙄 𝙜𝙤𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪."

"That explains that, but...the Void? Subset?" Dings sighed, although it seemed happy. 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙬𝙤 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚...𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙑𝙤𝙞𝙙 𝙞𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙨𝙥𝙡𝙞𝙩 𝙖𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙨 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚- 𝙞𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙙𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙡𝙮 𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙣𝙖𝙢𝙚. 𝙄𝙩'𝙨 𝙙𝙚𝙫𝙤𝙞𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜. 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙖 𝙗𝙤𝙙𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙊𝙐𝙇, 𝙨𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙘𝙖𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙨 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙑𝙤𝙞𝙙. 𝙏𝙝𝙪𝙨𝙡𝙮, 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙪𝙗𝙨𝙚𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙣." I nodded, once again looking around at the blackness.

Dings sighed, one of his hands gently resting atop mine. "𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙤𝙗𝙫𝙞𝙤𝙪𝙨, (𝙔/𝙉). 𝙄 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙚, 𝙞𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙞𝙨𝙝..," he said, his tone getting sadder. His permanent smile dropped a bit into a sad, semi-smile. "Well, if I do leave, you better come steal me again. You're a fun person, Dings!" The monster's smile was reignited, kindness lining his features. The faintest bit of red covered his face. "𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙖 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙮 𝙝𝙪𝙢𝙖𝙣, (𝙔/𝙉). 𝙉𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙢𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙞𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙮𝙤𝙪. 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙢𝙖𝙮 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙗𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙧, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙬𝙤 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙨𝙤 𝙨𝙞𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙖𝙧. 𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙠 𝙮𝙤𝙪, 𝙢𝙮 𝙙𝙚𝙖𝙧."

I smiled, laughing a bit. He snapped the fingers of the hand still attached via his arm, a whooshing noise heard. A blood red oval appeared, the sound of wind still present. "𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙬𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚- 𝙖 𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙡. 𝙄 𝙘𝙖𝙣'𝙩 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙖𝙣𝙮𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙖𝙨𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙢𝙮 𝙢𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙚. 𝙄 𝙘𝙖𝙣, 𝙝𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧, 𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙮𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚. 𝙉𝙤𝙬, 𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚 𝙗𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙛𝙚. 𝘿𝙤 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙖𝙣𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙢𝙮 𝙣𝙖𝙢𝙚, 𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚. 𝙎𝙖𝙣𝙨..𝙎𝙖𝙣𝙨 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙗𝙚 𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙡𝙚 𝙞𝙩." I nodded, looking at the portal again. I waved goodbye to Dings and walked through, my body feeling ultralight for a moment. Then, it all went white.

. . .

I woke up, gasping. It felt like my lungs were emptied and then filled with air suddenly. I burst into a coughing fit, my sides hurting. The familiar squeak of the basement door made me look up, just as my coughing seized. Sans stood in the doorway, not really paying attention. I tried to speak but I couldn't. The fear that something may have made me become mute caused tears to well up in my eyes. Sans groaned and stretched, his spine popping. "Damn, 'm super damn ti- (Y/N)?!" He ran over, a mix of fear and anger in his singular eye. Before he said anything else, he pulled his arm back and punched me in the face.

It really hurt. I looked at him, my mouth opening but no words coming out. I didn't know if I was incapable of speaking or just that shocked. I mean, I was only gone for a little while and all I did was sit quietly in the basement. "Ya moron! Yer such a fucken moron! Ya have any idea how much ya scared everyone!? Aliza an' Ren wouldn't fuck off soon enough! Damn asshole!" Red translucent tears rolled down Sans's face, any intimidation he had fading away. "Y-Ya know how w-worried we were?! Ya fucking dick! C-Coward! S-Stu...stupid...God damn it, (Y/N), y-ya scared us..."

Sans fell to his knees in front of me and pulled me into a tight hug, quiet sobs coming from him. Seeing him breakdown like that caused me to start crying too. After a few minutes of breaking down, Sans stoood up and wiped his face. It was still a little obvious he was crying, but his voice wasn't shaky in the slightest. "Let's get ya upstairs an' patched up. Gotta call tha cops an' get Paps down. God, he was a mess, (Y/N). Really. Stopped talkin' an' everythin'." I lowered my gaze to the floor. Papyrus? He was that upset? Oh right, Soulmates...

Sans picked me up bridal style, despite me not being a bride. He carried me up into the house, setting me on the couch. Aliza, Ren, and Farm were nowhere to be seen. I guess they were out doing things? I watched Sans run upstairs to Papyrus's room...Papyrus...I never realized how much I missed him...It was seconds later Papyrus was running down the stairs and in my direction. The massive skeleton slid on his knees, wrapping his bony arms around me. Instead of his lovely laugh, all I heard were broken sobs. "P...Papy..?" He pulled back from the embrace, his eye sockets filled with blood red, translucent tears.

"(Y...Y/N)...I-I Missed You..." I planted a gentle kiss to his forehead, pulling him into another hug. "Me too..," I said, his sobs starting to quiet down. Everything after that was a blur. Some cops came and asked me what happened, along with an EMT that sat me in an ambulance to check for any injuries. Papyrus refused to leave my side, clinging to my like a bear. The cops asked what happened. I could only tell them what I remembered: I tried to help a bloodied man and I just woke up in the basement. They first suspected the skeleton brothers, but considering Papyrus's state, it was ruled out.

I never did tell them what happened. I just remember falling asleep while laying on Papyrus, then being carried into a bed...

Sorry, I have no excuse for not writing this. I guess it slipped my mind. I'll be better, sorry.
