Flashback

Lizzie was in her room, staring at her sister's body which lay on their bed. Her body was pale and her wounds stopped bleeding. She sat on a chair beside her bed holding Josie's hand which has no pulse. She couldn't feel the bond to her twin anymore and that scared her. Given the circumstances she was still debating to accept the reality of her twin being dead. She has been told that Josie died with vampire blood in her system but it was almost a day that she didn't wake up.

She knew her twin could be stubborn at times and especially when it comes to a certain person but she was blaming it on her that if she could've kept an eye on her maybe the brunette was still alive. She was blaming Josie for making a decision which cost her life, she was blaming the Mikaelsons to bring out chaos wherever they go and more she was blaming Hope to being the centre of every problem they've encountered.
''...just wake up okay, it's your duty taking care of others not mine..." She wiped her tears as she heard their door harshly pushed open. She found the tribrid with tears in her eyes, standing at their entrance.
Slowly but taking big steps the tribrid approached the brunette on the other side. Lizzie didn't interrupt her cause she knew both lovers didn't deserve this. No matter what happens Josie would always choose Hope and she could also say the same for the tribrid. The tribrid caressed her cheek, touching the cold body with no sparks.
"Why hasn't she woken up yet?" Lizzie asked the tribrid.
The tribrid met Lizzie's eyes "My aunt said it will take her longer than me"
"Well what are we gonna do then?" Lizzie asked again "Should we put a barrier around you or hide you guys somewhere... cause those witches aren't going to stop until they get you..." Lizzie exclaimed.
Hope's movement paused at Lizzie's word. She was thinking the exact thing to protect them but she was more worried about the brunette. Lauren's word proved to be true as Hope died at the same time when Josie died. She has to protect the brunette for both of them.
"I asked my aunt Freya for this..." Hope begins and by the tone of her voice Lizzie could say she was going to dislike the idea
"...potion. We're going to put it in the water supply of the school so no one would remember that Josie's my mate..." Hope pause, holding brunette's hand, unconsciously making patterns on her arm
"There's more to it..." Lizzie said
"If anyone finds Josie's my mate, she would become a target for them to get to me" Hope continued "That's why you have to break our bond"
"That is completely insane and impossible" Lizzie raised her voice
Hope released Josie's hand as she stood in front of Lizzie
"It's not. I've found a spell which could suppress our mate bond to a subtle level that it would be obscure to anyone"
"Not even you?" Hope nodded at Lizzie's question
"Josie would never agree to this"
"You don't have to tell her"
"You're asking me to lie to her" Lizzie scowled at her
"I'm asking you to protect her" Hope shouted out loud. The light flickered as her irises shifted between gold and blue and she closed them keeping her calm. The heightened emotions are hard to control
"I know it's a selfish move but this is hard for me as for her..." She opened her eyes as the ocean eyes filled with the water in them. She pulled out a piece of paper, which seemed like an old page ripped out of a journal
"I ain't gonna do this..." Lizzie said
"Lizzie..."
"NO...you're making a mistake just like you did earlier and this time I won't let you break her heart again" Lizzie glanced at her sister. Hope sighed stepping closer to the blonde
"The witches I fought out there were the oldest, most strongest enemies my family ever encountered and they want me dead and whatever happens to me would happen to her too and if... if somehow they get to me I have to make sure that my soulmate would fine.... this is the first time I'm asking you something. Do it. For her" Hope handed her the paper and Lizzie grabbed it. Reading the spell and it's instructions
"I hate that you're making me do this" Lizzie mumbled as she grabbed some candles from her cabinet, drawing a small circle around it. She cut Josie's palm with a knife and let its blood fall inside the circle as she did the same thing with Hope. Then she chanted the spell written on the journal.
