Memory Lane

Flashback...

The twins returned from their trip back to the Salvatore School. When they entered their dad's office, they found him talking with Hope as what they were talking about was included the monsters and the artifact.
"Oh God. Girls what are you doing here? You're not supposed get in until tonight" Alaric asked his daughters
"Mom was able to get us diect into Dulles. Then faxed texted and e-mailed our revised itinerary"
"I'm so sorry its.. it's chaos around here"
"It's okay dad. We know that you are overwhelmed. Europe was amazing and seeing mom was really good" Josie replied to his father
"Jo's covered the bright side. Far less sunny was waiting for you in the chilly dark of morning at the terminal and you not showing up" Lizzie complained
"In his defense um... we're in the crisis mode around here" Hope spoke and then she looked at the brunette siphoner when their eye met for a brief moment when she looked away.
"Oh we've heard all about it. Hope got bamboozled by one of the monsters and now only two keys separate the entire supernatural community from being consumed by a hell portal" Lizzie exclaimed
"Lizzie, you said you'd play nice" Josie whispered her but the blonde ignored her "I'm guessing that weird little vase is one of them"
"It's an urn actually" the tribrid states
"I don't care what it is" She glared at the tribrid "I care that instead of being welcomed at the airport we were forced to take a three hours shuttle ride that smelled like an open sewer and feet" She looked at Hope "So thanks a lot Hope. Way to ruin life for the rest of us" She stormed off from her dad's office. Josie glanced between her father and her mate. She wanted to apologise to them but she followed Lizzie to calm her.
Lizzie on the other hand met the Jinnie and asked for the wishes she wanted to be true. She came to find that there were no life they were better off without the tribrid. She asked her last wish to make everything normal in which she had to forget about the knowledge of merge she learned from her time in alternate universe.
"Lizzie please don't be made at dad"
When Josie approached her she engulfed her sister in a big hug.
"Why are you suffocating me?" The twin asked little surprised
"I have no idea" She replied not letting her twin go afraid of something she didn't recall.
She went to meet her dad and talked with him and everything work out fine. When she met Hope at her way back she knew it involved her too but pass on her offer to put a boundary spell around the urn.
The twins knew they had to face their mates sooner or later but not now. They unpacked their things and set up everything in their room. And the night passed...

The brunette taken aback by her sister's question. She never told anyone about her bond with the tribrid except for the two person. One who was there when it all happened. MG. And the second one is Sophia. Sophia didn't know everything only that the tribrid rejected her. And guessing the tension between them earlier she assumed it was Hope.

"Lizzie... who told you that?" She tried to changed back the subject but Lizzie wasn't having it
"It's doesn't matter Jo" Lizzie sit in front of her "Why didn't you tell me she was the one who rejected you and you moved away because of that"
Josie didn't say anything she looked down not able to meet her twin's eye.
"Josie... please tell me..." She said in a low voice "I wasn't there for you... but I'm here and I want to be the best supporting twin ever..." Josie chuckled at her
"Fine I'll tell you..." Josie started...
Flashback...

The next day or the midnight they caught the new monster at the old mill, where they hid the urn. Hope got infected by the slug without her consent. She was feeling happy and she knew what made her happiest if she would try to talk to her mate and clear things between them.
Josie and Lizzie on the other hand return with the enthusiasm to be change for good. Turning into a better person.
"Remember what mom said we are airy clouds floating high above a turbulent sea of drama" Lizzie said her
"Two clouds who are not triggered by seeing ex-boyfriends" Josie replied to her
"Who also do not make out with ex girlfriends" Lizzie replied back
"Thanks to mom I have a silver lining" Lizzie said looking at her bracelet
"Saltzman twin 2.O" Josie states when they made their entrance at the common room.
Hope felt her presence even before the twins approached them. She turned to find the most beautiful girl she ever seen. Josie locked eyes with her and they both stared at each other until Lizzie broke the silence between them
"Good morning Rafael" Lizzie greet him
"Hi uh...how was your... your trip?" He asked awkwardly
"Excellent. Thank you" Josie replied for her twin. She also noticed the tribrid's hand on the curly haired boy but she hid her jealousy.
"Welcome back Landon" She glanced at the boy
"Didn't you vote me out?" He questioned him back
"It's all in the past" Lizzie saved her twin "Now is everyone excited as I am about tonight?" She asked them.
"What's happening tonight?" Landon asked
"The school's annual talent show. All the factions compete" Hope states that to Landon and Rafael. "You know the witch performance wouldn't be same without you two" She complement at the twin glancing more at the brunette
"Thank you"  Then they heard Alaric announced on PA system that they had to reschedule the talent show because of the presence of a new monster.
"Kind of overkill if you asked me" Hope replied taking a sip from her drink "I told your dad that a unicorn barely counts as a monster"
Josie and Lizzie managed to convince Alaric to rescheduled the talent show as it was before. Being slugged Hope wanted to do a talent show and she asked Landon to do it together as 'team other'. The witches were practicing for their dance when Lizzie asked Josie find the canes. Josie went to find the canes only to found the tribrid talking with the other students which was definitely weird. The tribrid felt the presence of her mate near her as she glanced at the girl
"Hey do you know where they moved the stupid canes for the talent show. Lizzie was asking me to find those"
She asked the tribrid. They still had an conversation pending for them
"You seem very anti-cane" the tribrid replied to her
"No uh anti doing the same exact thing every year but it's fine"
"I'll keep an eye out" she replied glancing behind the brunette "But I think someone has an eye out for you" Josie could felt the jealousy in her voice through the mate bond. When she looked back her ex-girlfriend was coming on her way
"Oh dear God. Hide me" She moved behind the tribrid and sat on the stairs crouching while Hope took a defensive stand at her when Penelope approached her. She looked at the tribrid and turned to Josie who opened her one eye to glanced at her
"Make sure you read it in private" She handed a letter to the brunette and she took it
"I'm not gonna read it at all" She replied with a smirked and went away with two witches following her.
"What do you think it say check this box if you want kiss me, check this box if you want to kill me"
Hope asked clearly jealous with Penelope's action.
"I don't know and I do not want to find out" Josie replied her.
"If you need me to smite the she-devil I got you Jo" She said smiling
"Okay did Emma just slip you happy pills or something while we were gone" Josie asked
"No just having a good time" She replied
"That makes one of us"
The tribrid engulfed Josie in a side hug
"I got to get to class but your day is gonna get so much better Jo I just know it" The tribrid said and suddenly Josie felt happy and confident. She decided now is the best time for them to talk about their mate bond. She grab the tribrid hand "We need to talk" She said and brought her to an empty classroom.
Hope finished her drink and threw it in the trash can.
"I'm just gonna say it, what you saw that day... me kissing Penelope was just a mistake..." Hope didn't say anything but she couldn't hide the happiness she felt. She smiled at the brunette.
"And we are mates... I know you feel it too cause I can feel your emotions when it's get overwhelmed" Josie states as she steps closer to the tribrid.
"I just want to know how you feel about all this... seeing you're playing couples with Landon..." She said little jealous. Hope came closer to her as well
"I thought you didn't want me to be your mate... cause you like Penelope and I don't know if that's something you want" the tribrid replied
"I do..." Josie replied instantly "I want us to give it a try" Josie said little nervous.
"Think it over Jo, I doubt if that's a good idea" the tribrid warned her when she taken aback when the brunette closed the gap between them and kisses the auburn haired girl. Hope response with the same intensity as the tension between them was washing away with each passing seconds. The slow and passionate kiss became hungry when the tribrid pull her tounge in the younger girl's mouth and their tounge collide in a battle. They interrupted by a knock on the door as they realised they were in a empty class room. They pull away and fixed their appearance. Josie went out first feeling the happiness she was craving for. Hope came sometimes later after her and went back to her class.
Later she was practicing her talent with Landon when she talked him about getting rid of the urn. She got shocked when she was turning off the vent and the slug came out of her ear and Landon stabbed it with a knife. They met with the librarian and found that Hope had been infected with the slug, which was a new monster. Then she realised what happened with Josie in the classroom. She didn't regret it but she knew she had to let the girl go.
They went back to found everyone was infected as well and locked them. While Lizzie came around looking for her sister who bailed on her. They soon found out that Josie was infected too. Which meant the moment they share and the conversation they had only because they were both infected by a slug monster.
The tribrid went to find Josie at the old mill where she hid the urn and found her mate kissing her ex-girlfriend. Again. She hated the raven haired witch.
"Not so fast Thelma and Louise" She casted a spell which sent back Penelope and she hit a wall and the canes were dropped
"Found the canes"
Josie steps ahead "You shouldn't have done that" She exclaimed but the tribrid didn't do anything. She made made a fireball to hit her but Lizzie siphoned from her
"Jo don't. This isn't you" she said
"You don't even know the real me"
"Then answer one question while you're saying how you really feel. Am I a good sister?" She asked the brunette
"Are you kidding me, you are a terrible sister" just then she got zapped by her bracelet and the slug came out of her ear and Hope step on it. Killing it.
Josie looked at her twin
"Lizzie... Lizzie I'm so sorry" She said while Lizzie pulled her in a hug and Hope just stared at them.
Later Lizzie handed the spotlight to Josie and she became the lead singer at the talent show. She looked at Hope through he song she could felt the sadness in their bond but focus on her performance. After the performance the twins talked with their father and went back to their room. Josie decided to take a walk and went out at the old mill where she found the tribrid already sitting here waiting for her.
"Hope..." Josie said her name with a smile. The tribrid looked at her. She hated herself for doing this but she think she was setting her free.
"We can't do this Josie" Josie afraid of the tribrid's response
"What are you talking about"
"The bond... we can't do this..." Hope took a step back. Standing at firm distance from the siphoner
"Hope no... please listen to me..."
"I'm so sorry Jo..." She said 
"I Hope Mikaelson, Daughter of Klaus Mikaelson and Haley Marshall..."
No. This is what she heard about when someone reject their mate. She didn't want it to be end. Not like this at least. "...rejecting you Jossete Saltzman as my mate"
And with that Josie felt as her heart broke into million pieces. Tears fell from her eyes as she couldn't control herself. Hope didn't say anything else as she move past the brunette leaving her there alone.
Josie fall into her knees not able to handle the pain because of the rejection. She felt like she would pass out anytime soon when two arms grab her from behind. She looked at her best friend.
"MG..." She muttered
"Hey... hey... I saw everything... I'm sorry it happened to you" he said while hugging her friend.
Josie cried in his arms and MG held her as long as she needed him to be. After some time he took the brunette to her room only to find out Lizzie waiting for her twin. Seeing Josie's eyes red and dark she knew something was wrong
"Jo, what happened?" She asked but instead of answering she hugged her twin and cried while MG answered for her
"I found her like this at the dock" MG said. He and Lizzie also haven't talked about their mate bond but this could wait for now. He left their room. Lizzie didn't ask anymore questions as she helped her twin to the bed and cuddled with her until she fall asleep.
Hope felt as someone rip her heart out. She didn't just stand there and watch the siphoner's tears so she left. She stumbled back to her room where she found Landon waiting for her. When he saw her unshed tears he went closer to her.
"Hope... what happened?" He asked with concern. She didn't say anything. She felt she couldn't say anything even if she tried she would scream in pain. She just hold Landon cried in his arms for hours... she did the right thing that's what she was telling herself but why does it have to hurt her so much...
