the bear-like boy shivered and pulled his jacket tighter around him, hoping to block out the chilly wind. his feet scraped against the concrete of the sidewalk, and his breath billowed around him as the sun began to set.

he forced himself to keep walking, but his world spun violently, making it almost impossible for him to walk straight. a light gust of wind carried over his head and caused him to lose his balance, having to take his hands out his pockets to stabilize himself.

as his hands brushed harshly against the brick wall, slight blood welled at his fingertips. confusion crossed his hazy mind, but that was the least of his problems as he could feel his legs trembling violently.

beomgyu turned around slowly to see if there was anyone around, but there wasn't. with a shaky sigh, the boys legs gave out.

his knees hit the harsh ground and gave him a moment of pain. he tried to recollect himself and stand up, but his legs wobbled and wouldn't hold his weight.

beomgyu stifled a groan as he pressed his back to the wall, his head resting on his knees. his entire body shivered involuntarily and his eyes were unable to focus.  he was confused as to why he was in this state, but it hurt his head to think too indepth about it.

"I thought you could make it home."

a voice rung in beomgyu's mind, causing him to groan lightly and cover his ears, resting his head down.

"beomgyu?"

beomgyu didn't look up, keeping his forehead on his kneecaps, too weak to lift his head. the boy sat down and gently nudged beomgyu.

"go away, yeonjun."

beomgyu mustered up the strength to mumble, keeping his eyes closed. yeonjun sat in front of him, making beomgyu lift his head. the younger tried to move away, but the weakness settled over him.

"what's wrong with you?"

yeonjun asked, but his voice was unquestionably laced with worry. beomgyu chuckled weakly and shrugged, feeling as if his head weighed heavier than an elephant. yeonjun carefully grabbed beomgyu's hands, helping him stand up.

beomgyu shivered and yeonjun, without a thought, stripped off his jacket and slid it around the youngers shoulders.

"you need it too, it's cold."

beomgyu muttered, trying to shuffle the jacket off of him. yeonjun dismissed the idea and made sure the clothing stayed around the boy.

"can you walk?" yeonjun asked, hovering his hand over beomgyu's waist. beomgyu hummed, dragging his shoe to take a tiny step. that was all yeonjun needed to see before he slipped his hand around beomgyu's thin waist.

"you're so skinny! why aren't you eating right?!"

yeonjun asked, alarmed that he could feel beomgyu's ribs too easily. at this, beomgyu chuckled dryly, shaking his head.

"why are you helping me? why ask if i'm not eating when I bullied you for being too fat, you're not by the way."

beomgyu whispered, feeling his head pound in his skull. yeonjun stayed quiet, feeling something shift in his heart. he ignored it and made beomgyu stop walking.

"i'm helping you because I want to."

yeonjun stated and beomgyu smiled lightly, unable to smile any bigger. he let his head rest on yeonjun's shoulder, feeling unbelievably exhausted.

in one swift movement, yeonjun hooked his arms under the younger's knees, easily lifting him. beomgyu didn't struggle against him, just curled his body around yeonjun and closed his eyes. their shared body heat made it not so cold for the both of them, giving yeonjun a sense of happiness.

"we left our bags at.. at the tree."

beomgyu mumbled, his voice breathy. yeonjun shrugged and began to walk, his legs slightly stiff due to being so still in the cold.

"tyun is at my house."

beomgyu mentioned and yeonjun didn't answer, trying to warm beomgyu by holding him closer.

"not to be rude, but why are you suddenly so sick?"

yeonjun asked quietly, keeping his voice calm to prove that he meant it in a concerned way. beomgyu shivered aggressively, causing yeonjun to hold him tighter.

"don't know."

his words slurred together, hardly audible, but yeonjun caught it. beomgyu soon found himself falling asleep, his head limply resting on yeonjuns arm.

"bear."

yeonjun nudged him lightly, fear striking his heart lightly. beomgyu hummed weakly, his hand reaching out for yeonjun's. the fox-like boy threaded their fingers together, letting his rest against beomgyu's leg.

"when we get there do you want me to leave..? the last thing I wanna do is make you uncomfortable.."

yeonjun began cautiously, rubbing beomgyu's hand with his thumb. beomgyu could feel himself slipping in and out of consciousness, but he managed to giggle lightly.

"stay, we've kissed and you're carrying me.. you won't- you won't make me uncomfortable."

beomgyu whispered, gazing up at yeonjun. the said boy glanced down at him and as soon as their eyes met, a smile broke out of each of their faces.

"just don't let tyun kill ya."

beomgyu joked, finally letting himself fall asleep. yeonjun hadn't realized that he had stopped walking, staring down at him. sadness filled his heart as he continued walking, trying to figure out what was wrong with the boy.

he silently leaned down and pressed a light kiss to beomgyu's forehead, holding him closer as he walked.
