Chapter 14

Something freaky is going on, I can see, feel, and hear it and I am worried. Eve has been on edge since I left her and went to the Captain's office. Mydi and Ray haven't been so much help and I know they are hiding something from me. I am not in my office and I just finished having a conversation I didn't want to have with Celeste parents. I really need to speak to Eve because I know something I up and I don't want to say I should've, would've or could've when it is too late. I dialed her number.

Then it went to voicemail. I got up and went to her desk only that she wasn't there. I inspected her desk and notice that nothing has been touch since I last saw it this morning. I looked around to see the closest person to her desk that is still there and not on duty call. I spotted Frank Fernis, and I said a silent prayer because Frank wouldn't only tell me where she went but because of him so amazing observing skill he will tell me where she went before she left. I walked over to Frank's desk and took a seat.

"Detective Fernis how are you doing this fine afternoon?" I said

"I am well praise God, to what do I owe this visit?"

When it comes on to Christianity Frank Fernis is one man you can asked anything religious and you will receive a well enough answer. This man is dedicated to God, His family and his job and he can become inspirational at times. He is the type that you can use as an example to say that, you can have a long marriage, there is a light at every tunnel and what I like to say most is "God is for real."

"I'd like to know if you saw where Detective Harmony went."

"Well after your little heated make out session Detective Webster came to see her and I overheard them saying that Mr. Buddy down at the lab wanted to see them. After a while they both got back and Detective Webster looked worried while Detective Harmony looked shaken up. Soon after Detective Harmony took her stuff and made a run for it."

"Thanks Frank I can always count on you."

"Any time Clancy."

So that was a start, I know that after I left she went to the Lab with Mydi and after they got back they weren't looking like when they left so what ever happened, happened down at the lab. Lab here I come and I plan on giving Buddy two if he dare tries to bullshit me. What could Buddy tell them that was so bad?

"Mr. Johnson I am afraid you and I have some communicating to do, first thing is where the results of the hair sample are? I was told you found at the crime scene and second thing what the hell happened with Eve down here this morning?"

"The results will be in soon and nothing happened here with Detective Harmony this morning or any morning."

"Since when does results take so long to run?"

"We were having some problems with the machines last night and I just had it fixed a few hours ago."

"Then why was Eve and Mydi here? And I have a good feeling that Rayon was here too?"

"They came to asked me to lunch, that's all."

"Buddy you just joined Fantastic 7 and now we are Fantastic 8 because we let you in and counting from the time we know you, you don't get personal visits just for them to ask you to lunch further more we don't have lunch with beginners. You have to earn your seat at the table and you haven't amazed me yet."

"U-uh u-u-ohm."

"Why are you stuttering Buddy?"

"No reason."

"Buddy it is obvious that something is going on and I can help."

"I don't feel like I want to trust you."

"Buddy we have a major problem she was also picked up on the camera at Ce-! Ahh what's up buddy?" Sudan ran in the lab and changed the subject big time when she notice I was here.

Simple meaning Sudan knows what is going on, which leaves me being the only person that is in Fantastic 8 that doesn't know what is going on. They don't hide things from me unless it is major or dangerous. I wondered what she was going to say if she did not see me but I did here the part about someone being seen on a camera at someone's house and since we are busy with the Celeste case I know that someone's house is hers, now this conversation is on a different level. And I have had enough

"That's enough I want to know what's going on this instants and let me tell you two you don't want me losing my cool up in here."

"You tell him Sudan." Buddy said panicky

"Why can't you tell him." she answered

"You know him longer than I do."

"I am going to count to three and if I don't get an answer it will not be cool."

"Malikai you didn't even say 1." Sudan said

"3-"

"The hair sample belongs to Eve." Buddy blurted out

"And I just saw her leaving Celeste house on the video that my new assistant gave me." Sudan followed

"W-what?" I am now last of words

"That is what have been going on." Buddy said

"I cannot believe Eve killed Celeste."

"No! No!" they both said in unison

"That's why we did not tell anyone besides Eve, Mydi and Rayon not even my assistant, because we know she did not do it."

"So she didn't do it?"

"No." Sudan said

"Where is she?"

"We told her to wait until we call her, she staying at motel, I just sent you the address." Sudan finished with a tap on her tablet

"Thanks the both of you."

I then make a run for it, in no time I was in my car speeding to the motel Sudan said she was staying at. On my way there I called her mother and tell her she has to keep the kids for about a week or so she asked if everything was alright and I told her yes and she said she will keep them. That makes it easier to go to the Hampton. If they ever find out the evidence that was found they'd waste no time in putting my baby behind bars without a fair trial so before the US get their hands on Eve, I'll get mines on her first.
