"They are back soon, just getting food." Ghost murmurs as he turns his attention to the TV, almost like he read your mind. You shiver slightly at the thought of him knowing what goes on in your head. You don't know whether you should try to converse with him or just silently watch the show. You decide to go take a shower, even if you don't need it, you just have to get away from him for a little while. You swing your feet out from under the blanket and place them on the floor. You remember that you had thrown your pants to the floor and sneak a quick look at Ghost, he isn't looking. You put your legs through the pants, still sitting down and with the blanket over your lap. As you pull the pants up you realize you will have to stand in order to pull the pants up to your waist. You stand up, and while looking at the TV you pull up the pants and button them. As you turn to walk past Ghost to make your way to the corridor you notice him staring at your legs and ass. You feel your cheeks growing warm and you clear your throat slightly, trying to make him aware that you know he is staring. This makes him look up at you, not shifting his head much, simply looking through his eyelashes. His eyes, dark as the deepest of seas. You feel yourself getting lost in those eyes. Then you hear the front door open.

"We got burritos!" You hear Soap's cheerful voice as he, Keegan, and Price walk into the living room. He places a brown bag down on the circular table and looks at you.

"You look like you've seen a ghost l/n. Anything wrong?" The irony.

"Oh no I'm fine, just tired. Let me just shower and I will join you." you say as you quickly make your way to the bedrooms, still feeling those piercing eyes on your back.

The scorching water of the shower flows over you, making your skin red. You stand in the shower for a while, not moving. You appreciate the hot water replacing the feeling of Ghost staring at your body. His eyes would definitely haunt you when you try to go to bed tonight. You hear a slight creak coming from your bedroom, and then some heavy footsteps. You turn off the water to hear better. Then you hear a door closing. What the fuck was that? Did one of the guys sneak around in your room? You make your way out of the shower, wrapping a towel around your body before stepping out into your bedroom, the difference in temperature making the hair on your arms stand up. The room looked just like before, no one was in there. You walk over to your bed and sit down, just then noticing the USB drive on your nightstand. That wasn't there before. Whoever was here must have left it

After getting your clothes back on you make your way to the kitchen. As you get closer you can overhear two men talking.

"Did you give her the data?" says Price.

"Affirmative." A raspy voice replies.

"Good. Dismissed." You hear heavy footsteps walking toward the doorframe that you are standing right next to. You don't have time to move away before he walks through it and into the corridor, noticing you. You realize it looks like you have been eavesdropping on them and your mind frantically tries to come up with something to say. He shakes his head slowly and lets out a sigh before continuing towards his room, his shoulder meeting yours for a second because his large frame takes up most of the corridor. As he opens his door you look at the back of his mask.

"Ghost." You say, wanting to ask if he was the one to leave the USB. He doesn't react and the door soon closes behind him. Bitch

"y/n." You hear Price from the kitchen. You stop looking at Ghost's closed door and walk into the kitchen.

"Yes, sir."

"Tomorrow we are going to check out another location. While we are out, try to get as much out of that data as you can. We managed to pull some files from a computer, I trust your ability to decode everything." Price lifts his cigar to his mouth.

"From the USB?" Price blows out smoke, with the cigar in his hand, close to the table.

"Yes, Ghost gave it to you, right?" he says while raising an eyebrow. Well, he didn't give it to you, he just left it.

"Yes."

"Good. You don't have to be up at the briefing tomorrow, get some rest l/n." As you turn to walk into the corridor you remember your encounter with Ghost. Curious, you turn back to Price.

"Why is he so distant?" you ask.

"Ghost?" Price looks at you. You nod.

"Long story, the man has some problems. You will get used to it." He rubs his temples.

When you get to your room again you make sure to lock the door behind you. You don't want any more unwelcome visitors in your room. You get comfortable in bed and as you turn to your side you remember the feeling of Ghost sitting down on the couch. You pull your legs close to you, so as to place some distance between the two of you, even if he isn't there. You fall asleep like that, huddled up under your blankets.

You wake up the next day. After dressing yourself you go out into the kitchen. The others have probably left for their mission a couple of hours ago. You start the coffee machine and as the coffee slowly starts to brew you walk into the office. Price had made this your designated space. Your laptop was connected to a bunch of screens and you had an old swivel chair to sit on. You turn on the laptop and place the USB on the desk. You return some minutes later with your coffee. Let's see what they managed to get. You plug in the USB and look through the files that have now popped up on your screen. You sip on your hot coffee as you read through the documents, nothing of interest showing up.

You go through multiple cups of coffee and just as you open the last file, the phone you got from Price rings.

"Found anything?" He says.

"Nothing yet." You say as you skim through the document in front of you. At the bottom of the page you spot a list. It's an itemized list, with what looks like a location typed at the top. You hear the Captain sigh somewhat defeated.

"Wait." You say. "I think I've found an inventory list. Does this place ring a bell?" As you read the location to Price he lets out a sigh of relief.

"Yes. It's three hours away, used to be a military base, guess those fuckers have recycled it."

"I'll print the list."

"Do that, good job l/n. We will be back at the house in a couple of hours."

You stand on the porch as the cars drive up to the cabin. The men jump out and you greet them.

"Welcome back, found anything?"

"Not really, but we heard you did." Says Soap as he walks up to you with a duffel bag thrown over his shoulder. "Good job y/n." He walks past you into the house. Keegan follows after giving you a high five and a smile. Then comes Ghost. He looks up at you, and meets your eyes. When he is down on the ground you are taller than him, but with every step he takes up the stairs to the porch, the taller and more intimidating he looks. You break the eye contact and look at Price, the last one out of the car. As Ghost walks past you you smell a slight hint of sweat. But it's not offputting. He smells like he has been working hard and you can't stop yourself from getting somewhat fascinated by his smell. Price walks up to you.

"You are coming with us tomorrow." He says. "We will keep them at bay and then you and Ghost can make your way to the arsenal and plant an explosive." You turn towards the house as he mentions Ghost, seeing him remove his helmet, but keeping the mask on. As usual. "Unfortunately we won't have time to train you, but I hope you have picked up enough at your base to make it through." You feel your stomach sink. You had barely finished basic training, and you hadn't told anyone in 141 about it yet, fearing they would not take your skills seriously. The only reason you got to stay in the army was because of your computer skills. You feel Price's hand on your shoulder.

"You will do good soldier."
