"Nice to meet you." You say. It was mainly directed at the other two, not the masked one. Ghost. Even that name makes you feel uneasy.

"Show her around, would you", says Price to Soap "I have matters to tend to, I'll come by on Monday."

"Will do boss" Soap says while stroking his hand through his hair. It was cut short on the sides making the middle resemble a mohawk, it looked funny.

After Price had hopped into the Jeep and disappeared out of view you turn towards the men and they start walking towards the house, with you close behind. When you enter you see a combined kitchen and living room, it was sparsely decorated but there was a couch, a TV, some bookshelves and a round table with chairs. You follow them as they walk through the room and into a corridor. Soap points toward three doors on one wall.

"These are the bedrooms, yours is the one furthest away, we guys share." You were happy you got your own room, privacy is important to you.

The rest of the cabin consisted of the recon room, an office, and one bathroom connected to every bedroom. The place was quite dusty and run down, like it had not been cleaned in a while, typically boys' behavior. They leave you alone for a while to unpack everything and you place the clothes you brought in the drawer standing in your room. Then someone knocks at your door. You walk over and turn the handle to open the door. Soap stands outside it.

"Are you hungry? Keegan is making food so you can come eat if you want."

"That sounds nice." you say realizing how hungry you are. You hadn't eaten since before the flight, almost a whole day ago.

Following Soap you make your way to the kitchen. Keegan is standing at the stove with something searing in a pan, it smells lovely and you can feel your tummy growl. Soap sits down on one of the chairs, opposite where Ghost was situated. You look at him, trying to avoid his eyes this time. He is leaning back in his chair with his arms crossed over his chest, you can see veins protruding from his arms. Since you arrived the guys had removed all their gear, but he still has his mask on. You realize you are staring at his body and you move your gaze toward Keegan. He brings the pan to the table and uses his tongs to push chicken out of the pan and onto everyone's plate. Then he brings over some rice and uses a large spoon to serve everyone.

"Thank you chef." says Soap, taking his knife and fork in each hand, ready to eat.

Keegan pulls out his chair and sits down and you take that as a sign for you to do the same. You pull out your chair and after you sit down you grab the seat and gently scoot forwards, bringing you and the chair closer to the table. You are situated between Soap and Ghost, opposite Keegan and as you scoot forwards you feel your knee touch something. Ghost sighs and you realize you bumped into his leg.

"Sorry." you say and squeeze your knees together as if you were wearing a really tight skirt. He just shakes his head. You feel awkward and hope someone will say something. Soap seems to pick up on the situation and asks about your part of the mission.

"Well, I won't be following you guys around and shooting the bad guys. Mostly I will be at my laptop collecting whatever data I can get my hands on, basically, I will be a small intel base." you explain. Both Soap and Keegan look at you while you speak, and they ask questions about your previous tasks within the military. The mood lightens a bit as you converse and eat but every once in a while you sneak a look at Ghost, sitting still, mask over his face, not eating. You think it's quite rude. Keegan cooked a nice meal considering the few ingredients at his disposal and he doesn't even give it a taste.

"You should maybe take that mask off", you say, trying to joke around with him "otherwise you can't eat."

Ghost shoots a stare at you. His eyes look straight into your soul. The shivers return and you shift your eyes towards Soap, who is looking straight at Ghost. Then Ghost stands up. You hadn't realized he was so big when you met outside the cabin, but now he is towering over you and you suddenly feel very small. The lieutenant makes his way through the kitchen and into the corridor, he opens a door to one of the bedrooms and slams it shut after he enters the room. You look confused at the two men left at the table.

"What was that?" you ask. Soap shakes his head slightly as he looks down at his plate.

"He can be a bit.. strange. Don't take it too seriously."

"He doesn't like people talking about his mask." says Keegan as he stands up, starting to gather the empty plates and placing them in the sink. You suddenly feel very stupid. You march in here, into their camp, and on the first day you anger the lieutenant. Great, absolutely wonderful. After that awkward situation, you excused yourself and made your way to your room.

You sit on the edge of the bed, staring at the wall in front of you, with one finger twirling a strand of hair. Soap had said it wasn't anything serious, but you still feel weird about the whole interaction. Who acts like that? He could just have said something but instead he walked away. He is so pathetic. It irritates you how easily his actions have found their way under your skin. You look at the clock placed on the nightstand. It's probably time to go to bed now. You make your way to the dresser and pull out the t-shirt and shorts your brought to sleep in. You fish out your toothbrush from your bag but can't seem to find your toothpaste. One of the guys probably has some you can use for now. You walk out into the corridor and knock on the door closest to the living room, you saw Soap and Keegan walk in there after you said goodnight. You knock on the door but no one opens. You knock again but there is still no sign of anyone being awake in their room. You turn towards the middle door, the door to Ghost's room. Fuck. You aren't too keen on talking with him after what happened at dinner but you don't want to have a nasty breath tomorrow. You knock on the door. A couple of seconds go by and you almost knock again but then you hear loud steps walking toward the door. It opens and you see Ghost standing there. Still not used to his height you tilt your head a bit backward to look at him.

"Uhm hi, so I was—" your eyes meet his and you feel that uncomfortable tingle along your spine once again as you lose your train of thought. He tilts his head slightly to the side and those dark eyes rolls, just slightly, seemingly annoyed seeing you stand outside his room. You rip your eyes from his and stare down at your feet.

"What do you want?" You haven't heard his voice before. It's raspy and he has a thick British accent, sounding almost like a dog barking the way he spits out the words.

"So uhm funny thing, I forgot to pack toothpaste and the other guys are like sleeping already and you know, not good to go to bed without brushing your teeth so—" You feel yourself fumble trying to talk, for some reason feeling like you need to explain yourself. The silence he gives you signaling you to go on.

"Could I maybe have your toothpaste? Like not have it, but just borrow it. Well you can't have it back because that would be pretty gross." Fuck. Why are you so awkward right now? This never happens otherwise. Because of your inner panic you haven't yet noticed how he has gone into his bathroom and come back to the door with toothpaste. He holds it out to you.

"Oh, thank you! I'll just run and brush my teeth and then I will be right back" you say as you grab the tube from his hand, your fingers slightly grazing against his palm.

"Just keep it." he says and sighs, sounding very tired of you wasting his time. You look up at his face right as he slams the door in your face.

"Goodnight!" you say, somewhat shocked. You wait around a few seconds for an answer but when you don't receive one you make your way into your room with a feeling of defeat looming over you.
