Ishita's POV:

Recess time was provided between the hearing during which Raj Kind cursed his faith in having a daughter like me but who said I care. Ritika was having a word with the senior jurisdictions about the case and I was getting bored because nothing is of my liking. My phone buzzed with Armaan's text, "What's going on there?" I explained to him everything to which he responded, "Do let me know once it gets over? I have a surprise for you...". Grinning widely, I texted him back, "What is it and where are you? Seriously this place is hell boring they don't even have Wi-Fi and it's nothing like they show in the movie. I have a better garage than this rusted place..."

"Don't you dare plan to buy that place... it's government property and I don't want you to step into that mess. I have some important meetings aligned after that I'll call you and pick you up." I replied, "Fine... I'll go to see Mom then we can go out or whatever you have planned but don't forget a cheeseburger with mayonnaise sauce." People gathered around the witness box and an old man in his eighties sits on the chair.

Ritika asked him, "Sir... Would you please consider telling us about the incident that happened on the same night of Mr. Malhotra's murder?" He nodded softly, "Mr. Malhotra was a kind man and I worked for him since he owned the Malhotra Production house a year before his marriage. Mrs. Malhotra never cared to know his feelings and was always concerned about her prestige in society. Vikram left the house when Mrs. Malhotra asked him to stand against his father. But she never gave up the idea to be the only one in his will even though she had a lot of money. The night Mr. Malhotra was murdered I was called to provide him his regular medicines."

He asked for a bottle of water gulping it down his throat and went on, "He asked me to have a cup of tea with him as it was one of the chill winter nights. I saw Miss Kashika with him that night but it wasn't anything new for me as she used to be with him more often. Mr. Malhotra do loved her company and Mrs. Malhotra was aware of it but she never opposed it. But that night when I was leaving the place her car was parked in the parking and she stopped in front of me angrily asking if Kashika was present with Mr. Malhotra at the moment. I told her that why is she considering it now after so many years. But she said some rude words and walked towards the hotel reception. I didn't have any other reason to be there so I left the place."

Ritika inquired him, "Sir... can to give up the rough idea what time it was when you met Mrs. Malhotra?" he thought for a while and mentioned, "I can't say exactly but it was around eight o'clock because when I last checked my watch will sipping the tea it was seven fifty." She turned towards the judge, "Your honor... I would like to know from Amir why the evidence provided in the court which was crucial for the case didn't have any hint of it." Amir stared at her in shock and glimpsed the questionable look on the judge's face.

When Amir didn't object to anything, Ritika concluded, "I might know the answer to it... Your honor when Amir asked Mrs. Malhotra to be a witness in the case and she instantly agreed to share the evidence with him. Amir didn't care to get it from the investigation office and how would he because Mrs. Malhotra cleverly erased it from the office and manipulated it for her liking keeping it to herself. Luckily, she used it when Mr. Raj Kund was fighting a case to get his name clear from a murder case."

Amir stood up, "I object to your conclusion... you're making it all up based on a single witness and where did you find him?" Vikram cleared his throat and stood up from his seat, "I can answer that... Our butler did visit the place before my father's death and my mother wasn't at home that night. I found him in our old house where he was living under my mother's strict administration. He wasn't even allowed to step out of the servant's quarter and was forced to stay out of his grandchildren's reach." The old man had tears in his eyes weeping at his destiny.

The judge asked Amir, "Did you gather the evidence from the investigation office or through Mrs. Malhotra?" he stared at the floor and nodded, "I collected it from Mrs. Malhotra... I apologize for such carelessness." To which the judge snapped, "Do you have any idea what were you doing? Because of your carelessness, the jury might have punished the wrong person based on fabricated evidence."

Murmurs spread in the courtroom when the judge discussed with the jury before announcing, "Under IPC section 135 giving or fabricating false evidence with intent to procure conviction of offense punishable. Amir's license would be seized for two years and he would have to pay a fine under three months imprisonment. Mrs. Malhotra will be charged and would stay in police custody till the jury decides on her fate. An inquiry team would be assigned to review all the stats of Malhotra and Kashika would be discharged but can't leave the city or country till the jury's decision." He stood up from his seat and we all had to stand up in respect, till he left the courtroom.

Stretching on the bench I yawed glimpsing at the police handcuffing Mrs. Malhotra and Amir following her behind. He glared at me angrily but left without saying anything, someone tapped on my shoulders turning around Raj was standing in front of me. "I don't know what to say?" he asked lowly I shrugged my shoulders, "Then don't say anything just take the win and walk away." He did consider it and left me alone, Ritika packed her things and approached me excitedly, "You need to appreciate my performance today...". I rolled my eyes, "Calm down... it was just fine I could have done better in less time..."

She grinned widely, "I would take it as a thank you..." I walked out of the place while she followed me. This place doesn't have nice parking or anything called parking we just park under a tree or shed leaving it at the mercy of pigeons. The scorching heat after a bit of rain made it worse to find where I parked my car. Someone honked their car at us pushing my frustration to the edge. I was going to through a sandal on the honking car's windscreen but stopped recognizing the car.

Armaan peeped out of the black Mercedes, "Don't you dare..." I tossed my car keys to Ritika, "Find my lungs and take her back home safely..." walking towards his car he opened the passenger seat and I hopped inside with a sigh of relief. He passed me a chilled water bottle and drove off the place, gulping a lot of water I caught him stealing glances. "So, what's the surprise?" a smile crept on his handsome face, "Even if you would ask me twice, I won't reveal it because it's a surprise."
