(JENNIE AND LISA POV.)

(Present Time)

"It’s.. You?"

Jennis was utterly shocked.

She subconsciously tried to hide her abdomen. She was afraid that Lisa would find Little Bump’s existence.

'No.. I must stay away from her!'

As she was panicking, she saw Lisa smile at her.

"It’s been a long time."

Jennie felt her blood turned cold.

'Why? Why was she okay? In these past few days… was she.. was she living her life like how it used to be before she met me? Back to being the great Eldest Young Master with countless women ready to crawl onto her bed? Was she acting like this right now because what happened to us was already in the past?'

Deep inside, Jennie wanted to see how Lisa lived in the past few days.

In those times she was thinking of her, she always thought that at least, even just a little, Lisa would feel distressed for losing her.

But she was wrong,

so f*cking wrong.

(A/N: yes you are wrong, so fucking wrong for being wrong *sigh*)

Seeing Lisa smiling and looking handsome as always, she felt like her heart was repeatedly stabbed with needles. Since the day she left, there was never a time where she was able to forget her.

She sometimes thought that maybe she was wrong. That maybe she should give Lisa another chance, that she should let her explain her side and that she should forgive and forget.

For the sake of her own heart and for the sake of Little Bump.

But after seeing her sitting there, looking as handsome yet also beautiful as before without even a touch of regret showing on her face for losing her, Jennie wanted to laugh out loud at her own idiocy.

She stupidly thought that Lisa would be like her, who became miserable after running away.

But no. Lisa was not miserable. Not at all.

"Yes. It’s been a while, Ms. Manoban"

Jennie buried everything deep inside her heart. She tried to stay calm as possible, not letting any emotion escape on her face. She tried to reach a glass of water but as she tried to use her hand, she noticed that her fingers were shaking hard. She discreetly lowered her hand and pretended to slowly knock the table.

'I must find some excuses to get away from here.'

Jennie could feel Lisa’s stare across the table.

She inhaled and said, “Seems like Ms.Manoban likes to stare. Is there something wrong with my face?"

Lisa’s eyes darkened.

"Looks like these past few days, you were living comfortably."

Jennie froze. She wanted to shout at Lisa. 'Comfortably?? Always falling asleep, always feeling dizzy all the time while being depressed and crying all night… You call that Living comfortably'?

Manoban Lisa… I guess it was all but a delusion in my part. I was hoping that you also cared for me, that you would think of me. chase me and beg for my forgiveness. But… I was wrong. It’s really funny. No matter how much I hate you, my heart still beats for you.. No matter how much I condemn you, I still yearn for you. Seems like what that woman said was true. The first one who falls in love is indeed the loser, and I was utterly defeated by you. I lost completely. But, I have to move on. I have to move on for the sake of my child, for the sake of Little Bump. I have to be strong. I must show you I can live without you. That I am perfectly fine.'

Jennie smiled. Concealing the fact that her heart was bleeding right now.

"Ms.Manoban is correct. After waking up from being stupid for a while, I suddenly thought that I should free myself and move on. Free from worries and unnecessary troubles."

She stared at Lisa. Not avoiding her gaze.

"Since you came, I assume that you already knew about our engagement. Since that’s the case, I guess there’s no need for any explanation."

Jennie gave Lisa a folder.

"As you can see, as a filial child, I do not want to oppose the elders. They wanted the union of Kim and Family Family. But I don’t want to sacrifice my own happiness to marry someone… I… do not love."

When Jennie said those last words,

she forced herself to look directly at Lisa’s eyes. Jennie saw Lisa’s eyes shook. She could see the pain, anger and sadness inside it.

'Pain? Anger? Sadness? Impossible. I must be seeing things. Why would she feel those emotions if she doesn’t care about me?'

"I already wrote the agreement. All you need is to sign those papers."

---------

When Lisa heard Jennie said that she did not want to sacrifice her own happiness to marry someone she did not love, her heart almost stopped beating.

Like someone splashed a cold water at Lisa. The happiness that she felt after she saw her again suddenly vanished in thin air.

'After all those months we shared together, seems like I was never inside her heart.'

Lisa could only stare at her. Her heart turned cold. She chuckled.

"Oh? Seems like Miss Kim came prepared. So, what are the agreement listed here?"

Lisa opened the folder and read the content.

(To summarize, they will marry for the sake of appearance. Both parties will not meddle with each other’s private life. They will live separately and any conjugal acts between husband and wife are not possible. They will get divorce in 5 month’s time. For the benefits of both parties, Manoban and Kim will have a collaboration in architectural design.)

Lisa wanted to shred the agreement into pieces.

‘Five months?? No conjugal acts between husband and wife?? Wow. Jennie Kim, if you think I will let you escape from me again, you are very wrong. I’d rather have you locked inside my room than let someone have you for himself. No matter what happens, you can only have me. You can only give birth to my children. You can only grow old with me. You can only love me. No one else but only me.'

Lisa threw the folder and stood up.

"I am a businesswoman, Miss Kim. I need profit in every transaction. If you don’t have anything to discuss anymore, I will go first."

Lisa started to walk away.

"Lalisa Manoban!! Stop!"

Lisa turned and stared at her.

"There’s no profit signing that agreement… But if you beg… I might consider it."

"You—!!!"
