He what now?

"You-you l-love m-me?" He nodded his head. "Spencer, I... gotta go."

I ran out of the classroom and down to the girls' bathroom.

I looked in the mirror. Spencer loves me?

Me? Why me? I'm less pretty than just about everyone in school, and I'm not that smart, and-

But he loves me. And I didn't say it back.

Crap.

Well, do I love him? I haven't known him for very long...

Then again he's funny, smart, sweet, gorgeous, and-

"Oh girl," I said to myself out loud. "You've got it bad."

"Got what bad?"

I whipped my head around to see Sydney standing at the door. "What are you doing here?"

"Spencer came in the room with red eyes saying that you ran into the bathroom. Ms. James wanted someone to come find you, so I volunteered. Now, got what bad?"

I winced. "Spencer was crying?"

"Yes, now answer the question!"

I turned back to the mirror. "I'm not even sure."

Sydney walked over to me and put a hand on my shoulder. "Honey, why was Spencer crying?"

My eyes filled with tears. "Um, I'm not sure."

Sydney grabbed my shoulders and spun me around so that I was looking her dead in the eye. "Samantha Amber Briggs, why was Spencer crying?"

I tried to stifled a sob. "Because he t-told me he l-loved me and I didn't say it back," I cried.

"Oh honey, you do have it bad." She hugged me while I cried.

After about 2 minutes of bawling my eyes out, Sydney lifted me off her shoulders. "Why?"

I looked up. "What do you mean?"

"Why didn't you tell him you love him?"

"Because-" I stopped talking abruptly and thought. Why didn't I say it back?

"I know it's not because you don't love him."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Sammy dear, you you really not realize it?"

I furrowed my eyebrows and looked at her. "Realize what?"

"Sam, you love him!"

"I-I do?"

"Yes!" She exclaimed. "And now he probably thinks you hate him!"

"Now that I think about it," I trailed off.

Sydney smiled an evil grin. "Exactly. Now what are you doing still standing here?"

"Hm?"

She giggled as she shoved me out the door. "Go get your man!"

The bell rang, signaling the end of the day. I looked around the hall, knowing that Spencer's locker was around here somewhere. When I spotted him, I ran up to him and grabbed his arm.

He looked at me with a cold gaze. "What do you want?" He growled.

I winced. "We need to talk."

"Sam, i can't deal with this right now, I can't-"

"Would you just come?" Without waiting for an answer, I yanked his arm and pulled him into a now empty hallway.

"Sam, I need to-"

"Sh," I chided him, putting my finger to his mouth and leaned in - I kissed him

Sam: 1. Spencer: 0!

At first, he just stood there like stone, but after a couple seconds he kissed me back. We kissed until I was out of breath and pulled away.

"Sam..."

"Spencer?"

"Yes?" He - barely audibly - whispered.

"I love you too." I kissed him again.

He pulled away. "Y-you do?" I smiled and nodded my head. "A-are you sure?"

I giggled. "Spencer, I am 100% positive."

He smiled, and it lit up the room. Then, he smirked. "Say it again."

"As many times as you want."

"5 times."

"What?"

He chuckled. "Say it 5 times, and I'll say it as many times as you want."

I grinned. "Deal. I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you!"

He laughed. "Good. My turn."

"Hm... 8 times!"

He laughed again. "Sure. I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I. Love. You!"

"Aww, stop!" I playfully punched him in the arm, but he grabbed my hand and intertwined his fingers with mine.

"We should stop doing this."

I stared at him. "Doing what? Holding hands?"

He stifled a laugh. "No, pulling each other into abandoned places. This is time number 3, dear."

I giggled. "Aww, I like it! I think it's cute."

"My definition of cute and your definition of cute must be very different."

"Well my definition of cute is adorable."

"My definition is Samantha Briggs."

"You're adorable, you know that?"

He grinned. "I think you mean cute."

I laughed, and we left school hand in hand.
