(Sorry about all of the parts of the date!)

"You're on a date!"

I nervously laughed. "Yeahhhh," I droned.

She turned to Spencer. "You moved on so quickly!"

He started laughing. "We never really dated, stupid! It was a THREAT, remember?"

"But it was fun for you while it lasted, wasn't it?"

"NO!"

"What?"

"You were the worst fake girlfriend ever!"

She gasped. "I was the best thing that ever happened to you and now you're so low, you're dating SAMANTHA BRIGGS."

"Excu-"

"EXCUSE ME?!" I interrupted.

"What?" She looked at me.

"You are rude, selfish, annoying, stupid, and UGLY!"

"I am NOT ugly!"

"Yeah you are," Spencer put in. I gave him a high five.

Allison, Tyler, and Spencer got in a fight. After about two minutes, I was getting tired of the bickering. "Come on Spencer. Let's just leave." I grabbed his arm, but he pulled away.

"No."

"Spencer, let's go!"

"No!"

"Why?"

"Because I'm not running away from these... these... people."

"It's not running away, it's being smart."

"Yeah? Well I'm not a coward!"

I glared at him. "Did you just call me a coward?" I turned right as his eyes widened and stomped out of the restaurant.

"Sam, wait!"

I marched all the way outside and pulled my phone out. I dialed Sydney's number and waited while it rang.

"Hello?"

"Sydney, come pick me up at the restaurant NOW."

"Coming."

I always loved how Sydney didn't question me. It only took 2 minutes to get to the restaurant from our neighborhood, so she pulled up soon after we hung up.

"Syd!"

"Quickly," she replied.

"Sam, please! Wait for me," said a voice behind me.

"Puh-lease," I muttered. I climbed in the car and Sydney drove away.

"Spill it."

"So..." I told her what happened. By the time I was done, we were sitting in her room.

"I can't believe he called you a coward! On your first date too!"

"I know! And I never ate. Can I have something to eat?"

"Of course. Come downstairs. Do your parents know you're here?"

"Yeah. I texted my mom and told her the date didn't go well and that I was headed to your house."

Sydney snickered. "Headed," she repeated.

"Whatever."

I stayed there for about an hour, eating and talking. A text popped up on my phone from my mom. Come home honey, it's getting late :)
