Who could see me for the trees
But somehow you picked me out
From the Pine and poplar
From the oversized oak
From the spindly spruce
You saw me there between the twigs
A simpering sapling
You cleared away the foliage
Created an environment of growth
Gave me the nourishment I required
Then little did I know
Its was your light I needed to grow.
