There's something about foot prints in the snow
The crunch and scrape as you drag your toe
The chill and icy bite as it falls into your shoe
The nostalgic memories that come back to youTrying to follow your father's tracks
Leaping from one print to another
It's a game we played in childhoodBut when the footsteps are retraced
They never seem to match the same
There is a reason for these prints misplacedThe footsteps ourfathers lay
Are not meant to be mimicked
But to give us an easier way.
