every room in joshua's house looked the same, but he knew that the room he was in was his own.

he knew he was laying on his own bed because he could feel the soft fluffy blanket, the one he got for his birthday two years ago. it was so comfy, but never in his life did he know what color it was.

was it only one color? many colors? was it some sort of pattern? a design? did it have a picture of something on it?

joshua didn't know and he probably never would.

sight was something that joshua longed for. after all, there was a point in his life where he actually had it. it was something sweet that he craved so much.

he knew what it was like, and every day he wishes that he could go back to that feeling.

sometimes, he just lays there in this exact position on his bed, straining his eyes so hard in order to try and get them to work, try to let himself see some little shape or color that could assure him that maybe his life wouldn't be so dark. he strains them so hard sometimes that tears spill from those useless eyes.

and then he cries.

he cries because he realizes that he will never experience seeing ever again.

and crying will be the only thing his eyes can do.

joshua doesn't really share this with anyone else. he thinks it makes him weak, and he knows that if he tells anyone he might receive judgmental or disappointed looks.

it's not like he would see them anyways.

joshua just hides it with a smile and tries to be kind. he has adapted to this life and has learned that showing weakness gets him nowhere.

he may have been able to live life as well as he could blind, but he wished he could just go back to how it was before. everything would be so much easier.

he always mulled in late nights about the fact that that was something that was nothing but impossible.

that was until the offer from wencorp came into his life, flipping his whole dark world upside down.

what professor wen offered was something that could give him everything he wanted.

he knew it was a big risk, one that could maybe not work at all.

but was this a risk he was willing to take?

it gave him a glimpse of light, a way that he could fix all of his problems. if it worked, he could be free.
