Enzo woke me up two hours before the plane's scheduled to land to talk to me about something important.

So that's why I'm sitting in a huge office with all of my brothers surrounding me, they look serious and it scares me.

Enzo is no longer in brother mode, he's in mafia leader mode and I can understand why people would find him intimidating. He looks scary.

" No rush or anything, but you guys are scaring me and I'd really like to know what is it that you woke me up for," I stated very hesitantly, they had blank expressions on their faces.

I don't think they can help the looks on their faces. It seems like they flip a switch in their heads whenever something serious happens and they just can't control the look that follows.

Dante was looking around, trying to see if whatever they were wanting to talk to me about was still going to be discussed.

Jordan and the rest of my brothers were standing behind Enzo and Carlo, who sat in front of me.

" We haven't talked about the mafia since you found out about it and I think you have some more questions that need answering so I wanted to give you a chance to ask them," Enzo said, looking at me with a blank expression on his face.

I do have a lot of questions but this subject is a serious one and I don't like when my brothers are this serious.

" I'm good, I don't need to ask any questions." I lied.

Enzo studied me for a second before responding," Ask them." He demanded, his voice cold and his expression stern.

I didn't like that he was telling me what to do, but asking questions could benefit me so I obliged.

" Fine, how does this mafia run?" I questioned, I could help but be a little bitter because he demanded that I ask him questions and I didn't like that one bit.

" Be more specific, Liz," Dante said.

" The Spanish mafia runs off of a certain amount of laws that they follow. One is that whoever kills the mob boss has to take their place whether they want to or not because they just killed a leader and without a leader, there wouldn't be any control within the organization. The German mafia has a ceremony following a tradition that they have, once every 10 years people line up in front of the leader and the leader picks two people in the line they think would be able to lead their mafia, immediately following that there's a fight between the two chosen and whoever lives becomes the next leader of the German mafia. How are your leaders chosen? How were you chosen, Enzo?" I asked, shocking my brothers once again.

I know about a lot of mafias because I've had run-ins with multiple, but my brothers don't need to know about that right now.

" I was chosen because I was dad's oldest heir. Since dad had a lot of children, we'll all take the place as the leader of the Italian mafia someday even you, if you choose to." What Enzo was saying made a lot of sense, except for one thing.

" You guys don't seem to have a choice, why do I get one?" I asked, Enzo looked at me in question so I explained," Your dad made you leader because of how old you were, after you it'll be Carlo and so on. When Dante is through with being leader, It'll be my turn based on how the mafia was built and controlled. But you just said that If I choose to I can become the leader. Why do I get to decide when none of you do?"

Enzo got up from his seat and walked to a black file cabinet in the corner of his office, he unlocked the middle file organizer and pulled out a plain black file with a gold eagle in the middle of it. Under the eagle were the words, 'Il potere prima di tutto,' which translates to, 'power before all.'
