This story is different from the stories I've read.
Elizabeth's trauma will be mentioned a lot throughout the story. Most of the stories I've read where the main character has a lot of trauma, I feel although the trauma is mentioned, it isn't mentioned enough.
Even after Elizabeth's brothers find out about her secret, what's she's been through will still be mentioned often. I did this on purpose. I feel like the only way to get over trauma is to talk about it and treat it as if it's a part of you, rather than just something you went through.
Many people don't agree with me on this way of coping (or whatever you want to call it), and that's okay.
I want Elizabeth and her family to threat her trauma as something that's a part of her, that's why it'll be mentioned a lot.
I don't want anyone to be confused as they read this story and see the trauma being mentioned a lot, that's the sole purpose of this author's note.
