Tarasti hain nigaahein meri
Takti hain raahein teri
Sunn kabhi aahein meri
Yeh kaise main bataaun
Tujhe soti nahin aankhein meri
Kat'ti nahin raatein meri

One week later

This was it, today was my first day of university. Oh my God, I don't think I was even this nervous on my nikkah day. This is so nerve wrecking, I had completely forgot how to do first days. Taking deep breaths in, I prayed Fajr along with extra 2 nafl for shukrana that Allah had helped me get to this point. I, then opened up my wardrobe and truth be told, I had no idea what to wear, should I wear a dress? Or T-shirt with jeans? Or a suit? Well, I didn't have a suit so that was automatically minimized from the options. After changing my clothes probably a million times, I decided to go with the clothes that I got when I went to shop with Henna. I gave my curls some beachy waves and wore my golden hoops with boots and I was ready

I didn't have to worry about aunty, because she visited over the weekend and left last night. I was just gonna pop to the kitchen and make some breakfast for me and baba, give him his medicines and then go off to college. I opened the door of my room to have the house smell as if something heavenly was baking. I walked downstairs to find baba and Henna in the kitchen, with baba standing proudly in front of plate of toasted bread and half fried eggs and Henna in front of a cake that said "Happy first day of university".

Seeing them this excited for me, I was going to burst into tears when both of them hugged me and threatened to eat all the food they had made if I let even a single tear drop. So, I just laughed and the three of us did breakfast together and then after baba had his medicines, Henna drove me to college. She then, stopped at a Starbucks drive thru and treated me with a beautiful pumpkin spice latte

We arrived at the campus and I literally felt like I was going to throw up. Henna guided me to the orientation for the Fashion and Business class. This was it. I could see a few students there, they all looked my age. I went over there and introduced myself. We started talking about where we are from. When I told them that I am from Pakistan, they were all equally shocked because there weren't a lot of international students. It was now, 9am and time for our first class and we made our way to it. I still felt kind of left out, cause most of my classmates were white people and I couldn't really relate to most of the things they would say.
