There is no such thing as a peaceful day, no matter how small it may be, something always happens.  Maybe something broke, or something was lost, someone got sick.

Though sometimes those annoying little things would seem like a heaven given moment, at least compared to what was happening at the moment.

She only wanted to withdraw some money from her bank account and get her passbook updated to her current balance, she didn't even think for one second that she would get involved in such a movie type of a scenario.

"Hello, I'd like to withdraw two hundred dollars from my savings account, and also get this updated." She said as she placed her passbook on the table in front of the teller.

The teller picked up the passbook, opened it and began to type in the account number written on the passbook into the computer.  After a few seconds of typing and clicking, the teller took a pair of keys and opened the drawer beside them.

"Is there any specific way you want the money?  In fifties, twenties, tens?" He asked before he took out the money.

She shook her head, "It doesn't matter."

The teller nodded and pulled out various bills of each kind and set them in front of him, he then picked up a pen and wrote the new balance onto the passbook.

He handed her the passbook back, and counted the money out to her, "Would you like an envelope?" He asked before giving her the money.

"No, it's okay."

Once she received the money, she placed it into the passbook then into her shoulder bag, "Thank you." She said before turning away from him.

As she headed towards the door, she looked down at her phone and almost nearly bumped into a man walking in if it were not for the man speaking up.

"Sorry, didn't see you there." The man apologized.

She looked up and quickly shook her head in embarrassment, "No, it's my fault.  I wasn't paying attention, I'm sorry." She sheepishly smiled; her light tan cheeks flushed a faint pink.

They parted ways after a few more exchanged words, one leaving the bank while the other walking into the bank.

There was no way that she could be imagining it, someone was definitely watching her.  She has felt and even seen suspicious cars and people for the past few hours since she left work earlier this morning.  Was it a stalker?  Was someone trying to mug her and take all her money and car?

She didn't have much money aside from what she had withdrawn from the bank not even five minutes ago.  Her car was used, and in no way of any value if they wanted to steal it.  She was only nineteen years old, there wasn't much to her aside from the money and car.

Locking the doors, she drove out of the bank parking lot and drove away.  Normally she would have gone home, but that wouldn't be such a wise decision.

She clutched the steering wheel tightly as she remembered what she had seen once in a crime show documentary.

"Don't go home.  Whether you're walking or driving don't go to your house.  It's natural to want to go to the comfort of your home and lock the doors.  But if the person or people following you doesn't know where you live, you don't want to reveal that information of where you live and lead them to your home where they could later return to.  Stay in a public place where there are people and you can be seen by other people, and if possible if it makes you feel safe, stay somewhere near a security camera.  Make sure that the area is well lit."

"If you're driving and feel like someone is following you, take as many detours as possible.  Take a couple turns, and if that person takes the same turns more than four times, then you should not go home.  If you're on the freeway, find the exit, then drive onto the next entrance back to the freeway, if you can see the vehicle in your rear-view mirror, you're likely being followed. "

"If you're walking, don't take the same route home, mix up your route and time.  You may be walking home from school or work at a set time and in the same route.  Change that.  Take a different path, and maybe start walking an hour earlier than usual.  But if someone is following you change the pace of your walk, if you walk faster or slower, that person may as well.  Pause a few times to check your phone, tie your shoe or even to scratch your leg, in those moments take a look if the person is still there, if they stopped or if they continue walking.  Make sure to look at them, let them know that you have seen them and know that you are now aware of them being behind you.  Turn around and head another way.  If possible be on the phone with someone as you walk."

While she drove, she took many turns to make sure she wasn't being followed, and eventually after six nerve wrecking minutes of driving she pulled into the public library parking lot.

As she turned off the car her phone rang making her hit the car horn as her body jolted in surprise.

 "Hello." She answered.

"Amy where are you?" The voice on the other end said, making Amy smile in relief as she heard her mother's voice.

"I'm at the public library.  I remembered that there was a book I wanted to check out." She replied, "Since I took this year off from college, I want to study a few subjects on my own to prepare myself."

It had been three hours since she clocked out from work.  At first, she figured that Amy wanted some time to herself, go shopping, eat, or go to a friend's house.

But, after three hours and not a single peep, she began to worry.

"I'll be home soon." It was a lie because she didn't want to be followed home.
