[2 Years Later..]

"Papa!" A little boy with wavy light brown hair and almond-shaped dark brown eyes, dressed in nothing but a diaper ran towards the front door as Kaito walked into the apartment. He smiled at the child and kneeled to the boy's height.

"Hey, buddy!" Kaito reached one arm out and pulled the child into his arms. The toddler grabbed onto a small paper bag that Kaito was carrying, but Kaito snatched it away before it would be torn.

Inside the bag were cookies he got from the Cafe. Often, he brought some home for his son and Samantha. But it seemed like Samantha wasn't here. It was very quiet, although he knew she was somewhere in the apartment. "Where's mommy, Keiji?"

Keiji ignored him and reached for the paper bag again. Kaito sighed, realizing that Keiji wasn't going to listen until he got a cookie. Kaito scooped him up in one arm and placed the bag on the kitchen counter. Then he placed the car keys, of a car he finally bought for himself on a rack that hung by the entrance of their apartment building.

He took his shoes off and walked into the living room, only to find Samantha sprawled across the couch in a deep sleep. He chuckled and playfully brushed his hand over Keiji's hair. "You've tired her out." He raised Keiji and smelled him before scrunching up his nose. "You need a diaper change too."

He glanced at the time on the clock and hovered over Samantha's body. It was 7 PM, and yet there was no dinner on the stove or anything for him when he got back. Kaito thought about ordering delivery food, but he didn't want Samantha to complain about him wasting his money.

He leaned over and pressed his lips against her cheek, and her eyes flicked open. Then she jolted up as if she forgot something and stared into the air. "Oh god... how long was I out for?" She whined.

"You tell me. I just got here." Kaito snorted in response.

"What time is it?" Samantha rubbed her eyes and yawned. "After 7? Shite, I forgot to make some dinner. I'm so sorry, Leo." She grumbled and pushed herself off of the couch. "I picked him up from daycare after work and I was just so tired."

"It's okay, I'll just go pick something up from the store, or order delivery if you're okay with it," Kaito suggested.

"Might as well. I'm not going back to that kitchen tonight. After Keiji eats and I bathe him, I'm going straight to bed."

"I brought some cookies from the shop today." Kaito hummed and placed Keiji down. He pulled out his phone from his pocket to make an order at the nearest fast-food chain while Samantha rushed into the kitchen and came back with a cookie in her hand.

"Correction." She giggled. "That was officially my last trip to the kitchen tonight." She took a large bite out of the soft chocolate chip delicacy. Kaito leaned over and took a smaller bite too, and the look on Samantha's face made him laugh. "If you wanted a piece you could've gotten your own!"

"I like taking a piece of yours though. It always tastes sweeter."

"Your cheesiness is starting to get old." Samantha rolled her eyes at him, and Kaito's face turned serious. Was she saying she didn't like him being a sappy husband anymore? He studied her expression for a while longer, but when she smiled at him, he relaxed. "You're cute though. What did you order?"

"Pizza."

"Ugh, no why?" Samantha frowned. "You should've asked me what I wanted."

"I got you some breadsticks and a deep dish. Relax." He kissed her forehead.

"What did you get for the baby?"

"He'll share the pizza with me, right Keiji?" Keiji jumped and down at his voice and smiled wide. Kaito felt his phone buzz so he took it out to see who was calling. It was Wilson.
